Why not?  We're the folks in the field ... seems to me that's where a lot of good ideas and information are going to come from.  

IMHO part of the function of the magazine is to help inexperienced campers (I'm still not an RVer  ;) ) become experienced ones.  The board is one way to do that (just like Ed said) and the mag is another way.  

Perhaps more of us should submit articles to Bob ...

Good post. It's important to have both ends of the spectrum represented. Opinions are opinions. I'm very happy that we can all be honest about being individual.

I haven't seen the mag yet. However, the main idea of appealing to a broader audience only makes sense to me. Just look at this board. Almost everyone here joined the board while owning or looking for a PU. Many of the members here have now moved to other types of RVs. We see travel trailers and hybrids galore. Most have stayed with the message board however. That should tell you something :D .

I have to agree, I started with a tent then went to a pop up and now have a hybrid.  I'm still here although I don't post a lot I do read the board every day.

Ouch!  Now that's cruel, but we'll respect your opinion.  But I'm confused, have you ever seen a "good" version of Trailer Life?
 
Believe me, we have no desire to be Trailer Life or Motorhome, they have a different agenda ... promoting everything and everybody associated with the Affinity Group and their vast RV holdings that include Camping World, Trailer Life, Motorhome, Good Sam Club, RV Today (television program), Camping World President's Club, Golf Card Club, Coast to Coast Club, Camping Life, Campground Management, RV Business (trade magazine), Woodall's buyer's guide and camping directory, Trailer Life camping directory and buyer's guide, Highways magazine, RV View magazine ... and don't forget their insurance programs, financing programs, and rallies!
 
AGI is close to a $500 million dollar RV giant.
 
We are delighted that you would include Dave and I in the same sentence as our much larger competitor!
 
We respectfully disagree with you though, we think it's a real good version of RV Enthusiast!

Don't feel too bad Becky - I have not gotten mine yet either.  The mail lady is starting to think I am nuts, waiting for her to bring the mail this week and meeting her at the mailbox.  Maybe it's a COTOC thing that we haven't gotten our issues...  ??
