So we are finally starting to thinkabout braving the world of mods...that is I am hubby is a little concerned about some he has seen that require drilling into the body of the pup so we'll see but I had a question about any creative mods for storing teh infamous bag chairs, of which we have like 6 that we take with us each trip and three bag tables that fold and roll.  We were thinking of expanding on the PVC tube idea.  Anyone ever mounted a 55 gallon plastic tub for storage?  We were thinking of one end so it is upright and drilling a hole in the bottom for drainage when it rains.  The only reason we were contemplating this was becasue all the chairs and tables take up precious cargo room..so what do you think???

I put ours on the floor between the dinette seats, then put the table down over them.  We have 4 bag chairs and 1 bag table.  You have more chairs, but our dinette is small.  We also have a small microwave under there, too.  If you have a larger dinette and a built-in microwave, you should be able to get more chairs and tables in that space.

I have a u-shaped dinette just to the right of the door.  Since we use the bags for camping and soccer games I try not to 'bury' them too far.  I just lay all 5 of them along the seat just inside the door.  (I gave my roll-up table to SkipP ~ I didn't like it!)[/FONT]

I keep the bag chairs in the trunk and the 2 folding chairs in the camper on the dinette.  I also store 2 folding tables on the dinette.  I also don't like the bag tables that I have.

Where would you mount a 55 gallon drum?

I have a Viking which has a ton of storage space in the front of the camper.  All my stuff goes there.

I mounted cargo carrier on my popup, use to carry food and outdoor cooking stuff and chairs ect...  see it at   http://www.lmack.org/cargo.htm

I like that carrier:

What I can't get my mind wrapped around is putting holes in my top.

What would you think about putting soft rubber cushions (like maybe, closed cell foam) under both ends of the carrier and simply strapping the entire works down to the top?

I think that I would like the idea of also being able to take the carrier off of the top and putting it on the ground to keep stuff organized around the campsite.

Once the galley has been lowered, I lay our 5 bag chairs on top of the galley. I put a towel over the top of the stove so that it doesn't get scratched. We don't have a front storage trunk, so this works well for us and doesn't require any work to "mod" anything, although I suppose that can be half the fun of these kinds of questions... :)

And if you don't have a roof rack, Target has one that attaches through the doors on your vehicle. I can't find it on target.com, but my local store has it - I think $30.
