Any Coleman Westlake owners who would like to share pics, stories, advice, tips?

Sorry we don't have any digital pics but we love our camper.  We originally towed the camper with a Chevy Astro van.  Not the perfect setup but plenty of power.  Now we tow with a Dodge Ram p/u.  With the van we needed a wdh (weight distribution hitch) but now we only use a sway bar.   Storage is always an issue for us but we have 2 sets of sterilite drawer inside that give us added space to put things.  We have 3 kids and 2 dogs and way too much stuff.   We also have the Yakima cross bars on top with 4 bike sleds and a storage basket.

If you have any other questions just let us know.  We have owned our Westie for 5 years now.  Bought it new in April 2001.

Wow!!  3 Kids and 2 Dogs?!?!.......We sometimes feel cramped in our Westlake with us (Sandy and I) and her sister along!.....but then, just the other day, 5 of us were comfortably sitting around inside while we waited out a rain shower.
 
As for your storage containers, was it you that posted pictures of those things?  I remember seeing them and getting inspired.

That was me . They are very handy. We take them out and put them in the TV when we go home. They have all our dirty clothes and things that need to be replenished in them. We leave them in our closet at home, fill them with clean clothes and are ready to go on our next camp-out. When we pop-up, we just put them in place and we are ready to go. Eliminates a lot of storage and set-up issues.

We have actually slept 9 in the camper (pretty tight).  We had 7 little boys and 2 dads.  My son wanted a camping birthday party.  What a hit!

We leave our sterilte drawers in the camper.  The small set I place on the floor by the bathroom along with the trash can (when popping down).  The other set I place on the floor in front of the doors to the storage trunk.   I keep all of our plates and cups in one drawer and all of the misc. stuff like lighter sticks, playing cards, travel alarm clock and flashlights in the other drawer.  The small ones hold table cloth and cloth holders, pot holders, towels, and diapers/wipes when our kids were smaller.  I put our laundry in a large cloth laundry bag and keep it outside under the back bed or if it is raining I keep it in the bathroom.  After we are done camping and the laundry is done, I fill the laundry bag up with the clean towels, pillow cases, and anything else that needs to go back in the camper.  This way nothing gets left behind.
