top hard to open

Hello
New to the popup camper world.
I have a 1994 Jayco 17'. I say 17' that is the top size about 21' overall. This is a large camper but I think its is way to hard to crank the top up. I don't think a small framed person could do it. Any ideas on where to start looking for the trouble.

Welcome to PUT and the world of PU campers.  I am guessing that the lift system needs to be lubed.  Do you have the owners manual?  If so check that for lift system maintenance.  If not contact Jayco and I am sure they can tell you how to service your lift system.  Good luck with the camper.
