I was just wondering if any one else owns a Keystone Cabana, and if they are having any problems with it?

I am reaching out to the others on this site for some advice.  I posted earlier asking if anyone else owned a Keystone Cabana, and it appears no one here does.  So I guess that means that you all are mush, much smarter than I am.

I purchased the Cabana in Oct of '03 brand new, it is an '04.  I didn't buy the top of the line but I didn't go with the bottom, I stayed in the middle.  I traded in my Coleman pop-up which I loved but it just didn't have the room I needed and I wanted a larger one but somehow got talked into this hybrid.  I have had nothing but trouble with it since I purchased it.  I really feel that it has spent more time being repaired than I have actually camped in it.  We have had the front bunk tent replaced, the black tank replaced, the camper needed to have the frame repaired (or maybe it was a spring on the bottom I really didn't get it when they told what they did, it was leaning and has since returned to that problem,) had the fridge reset, bars repaired among many other problems.

This summer (I am a teacher) I had a month long camping trip planned.  We left on a Friday afternoon, anxious to begin our trip, and got to the campground we were to start the first leg of excursion at and were going to spend a week.  We got it all set up (in the rain nonetheless) and finally went in to dry up and change clothes.  We noticed that the floor inside the door was "soft" but thought we could deal with that.  Anyway, we made dinner, went out and had a nice evening at the campground and finally came back to go to sleep.  We got ready for bed and while getting ready to climb in I noticed a spider web.  AS I was cleaning the spiderweb I discovered that the wood where the bed suspension hook was connected to the camper was pulling out.  It was all damaged (water obviously) and the bed suspension cord was pulling out.  I decided not good and slept instead on the couch.  The next morning I packed up the Hybrid and took it to the dealer in desperate hopes that they could fix the problem and I could resume my vacatio plans.  However, they couldn't get to it until the following Tuesday.  The did say that the extended warranty would cover a mobile tech, however they wanted the payment ($300.00 just to come out plus the repair cost and hourly repair charge)up front and I could get the coverage to cover the repair, well not being made of money I said no can you please get to it on Monday, oh no Tuesday at the earliest.  Well I left the camper there and went back adn checked out to the campground and went home.  By the way, the area damaged by water is in the exact location of the knob that holds the fold down bed in place, which was repaired (it was coming off) in Oct of 2004.  I ask them to check the floor as well.

Well, the next week rolls around and I get a call that they can't find the extended warranty and they can't even find where the Cabana exists.  I call the main office of the dealer and ask them t please help them find the info.  Next I get a call that the extended warranty doesn't cover water damage (imagine my surprise   ) so I repeat my observation that there is not any water damage anywhere except where the previous repair was made.  They will call me back.  Next, I call them and tell them I am going to go on and go on the rest of my vacation and will just stay in hotels (yuck!) but please keep me informed of how it is going.  They call the other store that made the reapir on the front knob and want themt o pay for the repairs (reasonable in my mind) but oh no they won't do that.  WHen I ask why (of the person in charge of all the service departments for this dealer) I am told the repair was only warranted for a year but I can turn it in to my insurance and they should cover it (which they won't.)  I inform them that no my insurance should not have to pay that, they made the repair and failed to close it properly that they should repair it.  I also ask that they please finish inspecting and tell me EVERYTHING that needs to be repaired.  I get another call from a disciple with yet a different story.  I then call the service manager for all the service departments and ask him to please have them get their stories staright and have the MANAGER of the service dept where the camper is call as he had promised would happen two weeks earlier.  I have yet to hear back from anyone and have in the meantime contacted the BBB and the state complaint people as well as notifying my lawyer that he needs to be ready to take it.

So my question to all of you is where do I go next?  I really don't want to jump and start to sue, I am not a sue happy person and think that people are often to fast to jump to that.  But after all of the frustration I have felt this last month and the $3400.00 + estimate I have for just the wall, I am a little exasperated.    Help me please?

Hi, I just got back from camping and was trying to locate a Keystone manufacturer and came across your letter. My Cabana is a 2001 with both pop out beds. While I was camping I felt a soft on th floor by the exit door. I was wondering if you found anything about the floor and if there's a recall which I doubt. This is the only problem I've had.

So far I have not heard back from Keystone nor has my dealer replied.  But I will post what happens, if anything.
