As part of our new addition on our house my trailer got a new cement pad and exterior outlet out of the deal.  Will it do any harm to battery or trailer to leave it plugged in all the time?

A lot depends on the year/make of the converter in the trailer. Older converters do not have seperate charging sections and as such keep pumping voltage to the battery and will boil them dry. Newer chargers like the WFCO brand have a built in three stage charger, but it never hurts to check once and a while on the battery water level.
There is an old saying that's true: expose a plate, create a doorstop.

The trailer is a brand new Fleetwood Evolution 2 so the converter is pretty new.  Will remember to check the fluid level before every campout now though.  Thanks.
