I recently bought a coleman colorado and the 2 small pieces that attach to the frame to suport tarp for transport are missing. Does anyone know where to get replacements or can tell the the measurements so I can make them? I really like the camper but without the supports the tarp allows water to pool and eventually leak into the camper. The missing pieces attach to the ridge pole to make the support(I have the ridge pole)  I would appreciate any tips and advice any other Colorado owners have to offer.  CathyMB

I have an 85 Coleman Aspen, and even though it is a different name, as far as I can tell (through pictures and owner's manual of the colorado) they are exactly the same. Matter of fact, I can't find a THING in relation to the Aspen, only the Colorado. I like to think that I have a "One Of A Kind"!!!

Even with the supports in place, there is still some pooling of water, but it has never leaked. The two poles are slightly different because of how they fit into the ridge pole. One slides inside of the ridge pole and has a screw to hold it at the right place. It also bends slightly. The total length of mine is 22", with the bend at 3 1/2" from the top (part that fits into ridge pole). The other one fits over the ridge pole and "stops" at the push button on the ridge pole. It also has what appears to be a "mod" because there is a screw in the side that also keeps it from slipping further up the ridge pole. This is is slightly longer for some reason (22 12/"). The tricky part is getting the end of the poles crimped so that they fit into the slots on the end of the campers box.

I know that I probably didn't describe these very well, but I will be happy to e-mail you some pictures if you would like. Just let me know!! And any other questions you may have about the camper I would be glad to answer. I did alot of work (including replacing part of the floor, new table, numerous patches on the canvas, etc.) and know this camper inside and out!! We have camped 4 nights so far this year (first season with the camper) and really enjoy how easy it is to tow, and being off the ground!

I would love to see some pics of the missing parts.. I am in the middle of some modifcations too.  I removed the dinette and turned the benches sideways for a sofa/bed. It is much more practical than a dinette. This also left room for a wide shelf along the other side which sterilite  or rubbermaid drawers will fit under. I also put in a new floor since the lino did not go under the benches. Your description was great butI would like to see some Pics  Thanks CathyMB

Great idea about moving the bench seats, especially if you don't use the dinette. Unfortunately, our son sleeps on that part, so its not an option for us. I only put the dinette up the first day we were camping...too much hassle and we never use it, so I keep it down now. I also put a small 4-drawer chest right inside the door. It also serves as a tv stand (son will not go to sleep by himself in the camper without it, fortunately, night is the only time it comes on). These campers may be small, but they really do have more room than you think!

I will get the pictures done today and posted (hopefully) tonight (July 4th).

Can't wait to see the pics.   About moving the benches, I can still put the bench backs down in front of the benches and make a bed the same size as before. It took some head scratching but it worked out. I just need to recover the original lovely brown plaid fabric and Ill be ready to hit the road! Cathy
