We HAVE to do Pismo this year.  I agree though, we will probably have to do it in June due to the whole "group" thing.  My kids get out June 20th and after that, I'm free as a bird.:D

We would like to check out Shaver Lake.  Pencil us in, based on the final dates.

Never been there, always driven past it on the way to the High Sierras and/or Mammoth!

Okay, if we're looking at Lopez for June, what about Shaver?  Late July?  Check back to the beginning of this thread -- we've got to commit (both body AND money) by February 1.  What's the consensus?

Being that we are having a rally at Lake Lopez the end of June, then Shaver Lake should be sometime in July.  We are in and will send money when we need to.

Dee4j

we will be doing the rally in June. We are not going to Shaver this time. We will have a lot of new expenses this year. The gas to get there is pretty hefty.
I think anything after June will be "local" camping. I will be entering Trina's world of scheduling. Kevin wants to do band, water polo & swim team. which all have "camps" in the summer and are mandatory :(  (I hate that word)

Is it time to begin discussing this again?  Or are we leaning toward just one rally this summer?

I have e-mailed TPTB to start a thread for our Pismo-replacement rally. It will be FRI June 22 through MON June 25, 2007, at Flying Flags in Buellton (same place as where Karen is heading up the Dead Presidents Days weekend) As soon they create the thread for me, I'll post all pertinent info.

We can still have another summer rally. It's totally up to you guys. I'm not sure, though, if I'm up for driving up to Shaver this summer. I'm still accruing vacation in my new big girl job and it's a slow process. I'm not sure I want to spend the majority of a day travelling to a cg. What about a closer summer getaway to Casitas in July or August? They have a water park that the kids love.

It all sounds good to me!  Thanks for your effort and time, Lori, with this June rally!  Casitas sounds good, too.  And, Bran is also trying to accrue vacation days with his new job....so he is using them sparingly!

Happy New Year!

I'm game for Casitas.  I'll wagonmaster, also.  Can someone who's been there tell me what I need to know about the place & I'll get right on it.

well we've always stayed in area B which is W& E only no sewer.

The bathrooms are horrible..DH hates them and complains everytime.  the main reason is there are no sinks in them. just a RV type push the peddle toilet
we have our own so that doesn't matter to me but I will not be very generous in sharing my Bathroom without a sewer hook-up.
also there are no showers in that area you have to drive to them elsewhere in the park

But....They are very nice sites!!! I do like them.

there is a full H/U section there but don't know anything about it.

I know Brad lives close to there...maybe he knows the full scoop

that's my .02 cents...if you plan it I will come :D

DH wagonmastered the rally we had with his work buddies last year.   I'll have him get you some of the info.

I think we have a Wagon-master. All in favor say aye!!

Thanks, Dave.  :D  BUT ... if someone else wants to do it, I won't stand in their way!

Here's a link to Casitas:  http://www.lakecasitas.info/campgrounds.html

Apparently in previous rallies you have stayed in either the "B" or "F" area.  The "F" area has full hook-ups (called Executive) on one side, which are $50/night plus a $7.50 registration fee.  The other sites are called Deluxe and are $40/night.

Let me know which area you prefer.  I'll call the CG on Tuesday to see what their availablity is for the end of July/first of August.  We may not be able to make reservations that far out -- 180 days puts us into June.  But I can ask.

See the PM I sent you. after looking at the options I think "B" will be best.

which side will depend on how many are going

as far as the bathrooms..when have I really cared what Dan thinks :yikes:

shoot that darn out loud voice again :Z
