Quote from: GarrettAs a licensed insurane agent, I can tell you that Primeamerica is bad news. They use part time poorly trained agents. The adage regarding Primeamerica agents is "they change your oil this morning and change your life insurance this evening."
You mean as a "competing" licensed insurance agent.
All agents must be licensed in the state they sell in. You don't need a lot of training to explain term insurance because it is self explanatory.  You do need a lot of training to sell whole life to be able to talk in circles so the client doesn't understand how he is getting ripped off.
Lets build a savings plan into your life insurance, great idea. Why don't they build a savings plan into your auto, health and home owners insurance? Because that isn't what "INSURANCE" is for, any insurance.

It was nice how that poorly trained agent was able to help the state troopers family and they didn't have to spend any more money for that benefit.

Yeah, usually I do ;) but not this time. My post was more of an FYI. No giggling at all, actually.

The gal finally called me back. She started to ask me a bunch of questions, but I cut to the chase and asked her exactly what the position was. She would only tell me that it was a Manager position to train and supervise staff in their duties to assist financial clients. I wasn't in the mood for a possible confrontational discussion or a long, drawn-out phone call, so I just begged off saying that my training and background were in the legal field and I wanted to remain there. She was very polite and said that she would keep my resume and if something came up in that area she would keep me in mind.

Which is double-speak for we're going to keep calling you...

You may be right AB, but once I indicated I wasn't interested, she didn't continue to push the matter for even a second.  If she does call again, I'll politely tell her not to call me again.  :)

Bah, she'll call again.  With a "valid reason".

They'll need someone of the legal persuasion... to get her coworkers out of jail! :D
