We are looking to hold the 2007 Eastern PU Rally in the Cape May, NJ area.  Some of the group need/want full hookup sites and others don't.  Any campground that you would recommend or that we should avoid?  Thanks in advance for your help.:)

We just got back a couple weeks ago from Seashore Campsites (//www.seashorecampsites.com) and we really liked it.  It is a very large campground so you would be able to satisfy everyone I think.  The bathrooms were very large and well maintained.  The sites are pretty much all shaded and not too small or close together.  I would recommend it!

Laurie thank you.  Do you have any pictures of the campground?:)

Tracy,

I probably have pictures of our site, but I'm not sure if I have any of the campground.  I will try to check tonight and post them tomorrow.

No hurry and thanks a lot.  If you don't hear from me for 2 weeks don't think that I forgot.  We are leaving Saturday on a 2 week camping trip.:)

We have camped in that area many times.  I will start looking for a campground.  What are you looking for?  We have stayed at the Seashore camp ground and found the sites too close together for us.
We camp in the area about 6 times a year.  Glad to see you coming to our neck of the woods.

Happy Camping

Hi Kathy and thank you for your offer.  The group changes for year to year and some of them want/need full hookups.  The rest of us can do without.  So about 8 to 10 full hookup sites and another 10 to 15 that have at least electric and preferably water and electric.  Sometimes we have people without campers that rent a cabin or trailer at the campground.  We have people camping in popups to travel trailers so there is a wide range of campers.  We don't need a lot of campground activities, (but it is ok if they have them), a pool or other swimming area is a must.  Clean bathrooms are way up there too.  I am not sure if all of us, but most of us like shaded sites.  We need a place to have our pot luck dinner and silent auction, usually an activity room or a pavilion.  I am a state park/national park camper most of the time, so I find most commercial campgrounds too open and the sites too small, but for the Rally I suffer through.:yikes:  Any help you can offer will be appreciated.  Do you think you would be able to join us next year?  We don't have a date set, but hopefully we will have a date in the next month or two.  Usually in the middle of July.:)

Cheryl

Hi Tracy,
We happened to be camping at Bar Harbor campground in Abingdon, Md. this past weekend and camped next to us was a couple from Cape May New Jersey. What a coincidense! They were an extremely nice couple in the area for a "class" on a new product for fireplaces (they own their own company) and preferred to camp instead of staying at a hotel. They told us that Seashore campground is a very nice campground that they have visited. They left us their business card so that I can email them when we have finalized all the plans as they'd really like to join us. Bob gave their young son a ride on his Waverunner (the boy's first) and then we had a very nice campfire chat with them and when they left they left us all their unburned fire wood! Very nice people.

Cheryl it sounds like you made a great contact.  So when is Bob going to take me for a ride on the wave runner?:)

I would've taken you out while we were in NY, but........

We'll be in Bar Harbor next August.....meet us there.

Maybe you can talk Cheryl into towing the WaveRunner to Cape May......
Maybe..........

Later
