The stabilizers on my 86 Sequoia are worn out and I would like to replace them with some thing a little easier to use, but still attached to the trailer.  Any suggestions?

I am a single women and I sometimes like to travel by myself (well, with my dog.) and as I get older it gets harder and harder for me to put this thing up by myself. I love my pop up, but wonder if I can still do it by myself as a single senior citizen!!!  Any more suggestions?

Thanks, Sue

Sue, I am planning to replace mine also, mostly because of modifications which will create a lot more ground clearance below frame that would necessitate using a lot of blocks with current stock ones. I have decided to go with the crankdown type found on a lot of TravelTrailers and MotorHomes as will save from having to reach under unit to swing down, plus can use 18v dewalt drill with an attachment to screw down stabilizers as well as to lift top.

something along the lines of bottom jacks

I found these in GO-RV.com

I don't know what you have now but if they are the ratchet type where you put a rod in the hole and push, you can unbolt them and replace them with the sand pad crank down style, they bolt in the same holes. I did this on our 01 timberlake. you can get them at your local dealer for about 60-70 dollars for two if memory serves.

Thanks so much for your quick replies, I will look at both, I like the idea of using the drill.

I'm also having wiring problems, know a source for wiring diagrams?

Thanks again.

for the factory units they sell an adapter for your drill for about $15.00+- , I use that to run up my top as well as the stabilizers with my 19.2 volt craftsman cordless drill. it sure does cut down on the cranking
