Tuckahoe State Park is located on Maryland's Eastern Shore about 35 miles East of the Bay Bridge.  The park has 51 sites, divided into 2 loops.  The electric loop has 33 sites and the non-electric loop has the rest.  I stayed in the electric loop in site 14.  The sites are not huge, but they are big enough to set up the pup with awning.  Each site has a fire ring, picnic table and lantern post.  Most of the sites are far enough apart to allow a decent amount of privacy.

The park also has a large play ground, a nice sized pavillion and 20 miles of marked trails for hiking.  For the geocachers in the audience, there are about 7 geocaches in the park.  There is also a 60 acre lake for fishing or boating.  Canoes and kayaks can be rented at the park.

Over all, this is a really nice park.  Since it's only about an hour and a half from Baltimore, this will likely become one of the parks that we use for last minute camping trips.

We have stayed at Tuckahoe a number of times and made it our base for exploring the eastern shore.  Easy drive from there to the bayside communities and small towns, and it is also an easy drive to the coast.  Last time we were there it was extremely hot and humid so we didn't leave our vehicle or camper very much, but we still enjoyed a nice drive down to the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge area (I think that is the correct name) which was about an hour - hour and a half drive southwest of Tuckahoe.  Saw a lot of wildlife - eagles, ospreys, pelicans, all kinds of egrets and cranes - it was a nice trip.  I would recommend it.  And the campground is really nice as well, and very central to exploring the eastern shore. :)

We visited Tuckahoe several times this year and enjoyed our visits, Recreational Kayaking is one of the reasons we enjoy the park so much. Miles of water to explore as long as the water level is normal or high. Even when the level is low you still have plenty to explore. The trails we hiked were well maintained and very easy to hike. I would rate this park an 8 out of 10.
