Great pop-up sell-off?

There seemed to be a rash of posts to the classified section like I don't remember ever seeing before.  So I did a qasi-scientific look and this is what I found:

Between 9/12/2005 and 9/18/2005 (last post date, not original post date), there were 5 threads in the classifieds, one of which was a pop-up for sale.

One year later, between 9/12/2006 and 9/18/2006 (last post date, not original post date), there were 31 threads in the classifieds, 15 of which appeared to be pop-ups for sale.  

The number of people selling their pop-ups in the third week of September has increased 1,500% over last year. :yikes:

Let's speculate wildly on why so many people are selling their beloved pop-ups this fall.

Because they won the lottery and are buying new million dollar plus moho's....Moho dealers won't take popups in on trade so they have to sell'm........I would keep the popup and tow it with the moho for the maid and butler to stay in......

#1 It took that long for some morons to figure out there was a for sale forum
#2 It took that long to find someone to post their ad as they didn't know how to or care to learn how to post one.
#3 they were all being held in hopes that they would be bought by FEMA for possible use for flooding in Death Valley.
#4 Folks found out that TV here means tow vehicle and are selling once they found their TV's (televisions) couldn't be fitted with a class III receiver.

Sellers heard only the coolest people own popups. So, being honest they are selling.

Notice I do not own a popup.

I went from a small pop up, to a medium pop, up to a large pop up that just sold last week. All 3 were Coleman, now I am in the market again  for a medium pop up with a screen room.

We are selling ours for a hybrid.  We found that while on long trips we need a potty readily available because when we are in the middle of no where, someone needs to go potty.  Secondly, we found one that has a U-shaped dinette so maybe all 5 of us can eat at the table at once.  What a concept.

There is a blackmarket, underground, for popups. People are getting top dollar for their popups and their kidneys.

REASONABLY....

The PopupTimes/ArveeClub community has grown significantly over the past year.

I had also been noticing the increasing trend.

I've wondered if, perhaps, some PUP's are being advertized by dealers as a way to get additional "free" advertizing to sell something on their lot (ie, unregistered user, or user who only EVER posted their PUP for sale, never participating in any other forums or threads here are PUT).
