Well, God certainly does work in mysterious ways.

Last weekend I began the process of networking to find a new camping buddy.  I thought it would take awhile, but boy was I wrong ...!  Through a series of conversations I met a breeder in Ventura -- she's been in the Lab "business" for over 20 years.  I told her a bit about my situation, Brandy, and desire to find an older puppy/young adult to fill the hole in my heart.  She said that she didn't have any older dogs, but had been hanging onto a 14 week old yellow male, and had hoped to show him (father is champion, mom is working on it), but his "manly parts" hadn't descended, and therefore would be worthless (!) to her as a show dog.  She offered to let me have him for nothing except for what I'd have to pay to have him neutered.  Well, I went up to see him today, and he's now sacked out my covered-with-plastic-floor.

His name is Jed.  He'll be coming to Temecula.  We're looking forward to a great time.

Let me know if the link doesn't show up -- Moose couldn't get it to work, but it did fine for me.

Laura, we got home too late to call you back, but it looks like you figured out the picture thing all by yourself. ;)

Jed is absolutlely precious!!!  As his self-appointed aunt, I can't wait to meet him at Temecula.  :D

I'm so happy for you--and a little tired too just thinking about the work puppies require!  God always answers our prayers, and I'm so thankful that this time, it was the way we all wanted for you!

What doggy toys or treats can we bring for Jed for his 1st campout/Halloween? A can of tennis balls and rawhide?

Awwww ... thanks.  He likes tennis balls, but I'm not sure he'll get many -- too much dirt, you know ...  I don't want upset tummies in the middle of the night.

This is as close as I'll get to having a kid -- and I'm glad.  Boy, are the opinions about training flying fast & furiously!  He's doing well in his kennel -- makes it through the night with flying colors!  And today my neighbor came over at 10 & 1:00 to let him out of his kennel -- still no messes.  And so far tonight, no messes in the house (just watch, he'll squat any minute).  I'm looking into obedience training, but don't know how old he has to be to begin.  He seems to be bright, and willing to please.  Lots of love & kisses will be welcomed.  :)

Thanks for your support, everyone.  It sure helps!
