yOU AND i  (and Tracy and Rick and the others here) MUST REALLY HAVE A TALK...

and I know you are reading this.
Wow.  This sounds reeeeeeaaaaaaaallllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyy serious.  Glad I didn't make the list.  At least I don't think I did.  "and the others here" could be pretty inclusive.

Hi Paula,

You rang ?  I just heard about your post, what's up ?   I figured I better stop in a say hello after I heard about your post.

I hope your not upset at me for planning a trip to Otter Lake, this trip really was my freinds idea Mike from Twin Grove.  I asked my next door neighbor and then I had to ask my other neighbor since they have there trailer @ Otter Lake year round. Then of course I ask some of my friends from PA including Banjorules, then he asked if it was ok to post as a public trip on MAC/PUX. By the way it's just seven of us, and we all are booked in the C section with the rest of the Hardside folks.

I'm truly sorry if somehow I offended you Paula, that was not the intent.

******So back to camping and we return to your noraml broadcast !********

Happy Birthday Tracy !   BTW mines April 13th, I remenber many years ago camping w/Paula when she got me a birthday cake and a dollar lighter  :) ....Thanks Paula I still remember!

OK I was not online for a week and when I came back today I found the post here.  What did I do Paula???  Adam at the Mingle Fest I encouraged you to come to Otter Lake on April 20th weekend?  At that time you had plans else where.  I am glad you decided to come to Otter Lake, I know you have wanted to camp there.  One problem though I will not see you at Otter Lake that weekend.  After this weekends camping trip/group dinner Saturday night, the COTOCians decided that my BD trip will be held at Hickory Run SP.  We have not been back there for several years and it was the location for the first COTOC trip.  Well sort of.  We were not COTOC back then, just friends camping.  I guess there isn't really a difference.:D

Hi guys. I signed on to see how the winter camping bash went (not enough details you guys) and see there's conflict with Adam (again) and you have Tracy's bday bash plans all changed around - so I immediately went and registered for a site at HR (site 262 - same one I stayed on back in 2002).

Then I got scared and thought, maybe Tracy was just joking with Adam (wouldn't be the first time ;) ). So I figured no big deal, state parks are cheap if I wind up looking the fool and have to cancel. But after 1/2 hr or so, I checked back and happened to see the beginning of this thread where Tracy posted the "official" signup info and gave her site #. Now I feel better. Thanks Tracy. Can't wait.

Our plans are still up in the air for this spring but I wanted to grab a site while I could. Chris needs to schedule his heart valve surgery relatively soon (met with the surgeon Friday). He's trying to figure out best timing, etc. I'm thinking end of Feb or beginning of March but he's in charge of this decision so who knows? I wanted it done last May when he passed out (or years ago actually). He's good at putting it off but the surgeon gave him a 3 month limit  :D so at least I can say it will be done by May.

No joking around here.  I am glad you will be my neighbor.  I have missed seeing, hearing from you.  I thought maybe you would join us at the campground on Saturday, like some of the others did, but I know you are running all the time.:)

Please let me know when Chris gets his surgery scheduled.

Tracy honey, you did not do a thing...

Adam, it was the way it was presented on PUX, like it was all your idea and no credit was given to Tracy or this group for coming up with the initial idea for that weekend.

And since I was told to my face at Cunningham Falls that we (COTOC) are cliquey (sp??) this sat rather (and still sits,) badly with me that you would arrange a camping trip on the same weekend that our cliquey group was at the same campground.

It would have been more honest and forthright to have said up fron that the COTOCians are having their spring bash at ...and all are invited.

When I signed onto Cunningham Falls, last fall that was how I addressed it, though some COTOCians did come. I let COTOC know up front that this was a PUX trip. I feel that should have been done in this situation also.

Personally I was not impressed with Otter Lake. It had a nice indoor pool and hot tubs (be sure to bring quarters, as they are not free).  It was not well marked to get back there. It is not high on my places of campgrounds to go back to. And the Walmart is easily missed. The road back is narrow and the sides need to be fixed. I am not sure how the behemouths navigate those curves where the road is falling into the creek.

So Paula, don't hold back -- tell us how you really felt about Otter Lake.  :D

Hey Paula,

Seem's it's no problem since Tracy has moved her camp party to another campground no harm done. Again it wasn't my idea to goto Otter Lake sweety, nor did I create the Rally thread on PUX this trip was planned of the board, and planned with my neighbor who has a seasonal site at OL, just turned out that it we might have crossed pathes.

Sorry to hear you came away with a feeling that your not welcome on PUX trips, however after the tone of your last few mails I sense I'm no longer welcome either, nothing new there however you mentioned other folks feeling this way that should alarm one!

I applauded Rick's post, about moving foward in making reses, not getting into a tit for tat and making it a PUX vs PUT story or hmmmm Adam vs COTOC......we all enjoy camping and at the end of the day it shouldn't matter who post what trip or where, or who's going to attend or who's not attending....Let's just go camping and enjoy what we love to do, and if you make some friends along the way it's even better !

DiW

I take a couple months off from camping stuff and everybody goes crazy - guess I missed more than I thought...

Let's try to be nice guys. We all LOVE CAMPING - that's the important thing. Think we clash sometimes just coz we have different styles but so what? We tease Rick for be so obsessively compulsively neat, Tracy for being ultra prepared (but boy do we count on her when we need help), Andy and Rick & now Tracy for being hardcore campers (Jan brrrrr), Paula for her never ending Walmart trips, and Adam for dropping out of plans - but I don't think we ever meant it mean-spirited (then again, I don't know what you say about me  :p ). To me, friendly teasing is a sign that we're a family. I come from one big teasing clan so to me, this is normal.

So keeping things in perspective, I hope to see everyone relatively soon. We don't plan to camp until spring - camper is closed up, in garage. Chris will be having surgery so we won't be up for anything. Fall was sad. Chris lost his surrogate father to cancer. My dad was very ill and passed away. My mom and Chris' mom have been visiting with us and both are showing their ages. On Dec 30, my cousin's 16yo daughter was killed in a car accident - probably inexperience of the teen driver (he's still in intensive care I heard last night). No seatbelts    so please buckle up everyone. We've had 8 teen deaths around here since Jan 1. It's insane. Somedays, I just want to lock my kids up to keep them safe.  So instead I'll say lets just focus on what keeps us sane - CAMPING. I'm looking forward to a calmer 2007, spent with friends - and that means you guys.

Good to hear from you again!  Sorry to hear of your troubles.  Tell Chris I hope all goes well for him.  Our condolences for all your losses.  Hope to see you at the rally, we are planning on attending.  Wish we could make some of the other events, but I'd be doing that without DW much of the time.  Camping's supposed to be a family event first, so I resist doing that.  If she can't go, I won't either.  Sorry to be a stick-in-the-mud, but I've got to do it that way.  At any rate, hope to see you all soon!

Maybe if we start praying NOW, it will work.:D

Adam

Di,Tracy and the others Thank you....and Amen "Lets go Camping"  I'm looking foward to trying to make COTOC rally this year, or seeing you guys at a PUX rally.

Di, I know how you feel about the teens driving, we just lost three great highschool kids in a firey accident in Freehold just last week.

DiW

Adam, I heard about that accident also. What a shame! So many lives lost...
Probably won't make the PUX trip because my son is graduating HS during that trip. Time sure does fly.

Can't wait til all this college stuff is done. In the midst of filling out Financial Aid forms, then rush to do taxes, then revise the FA forms. J has 2 collegescholarship interviews this weekend. I am so glad he can drive himself but with all these accidents, his independence just makes me more uneasy.

I actually feel better now that I booked a couple trips. Now if it weren't so blah out.
