SURFcampers

Hi everyone!  Thanks to Darksiders for a great job!  Todd & I had a fantastic time meeting new folks and hooking up again with those we met previously.  I think the little sign Wes made has become a permanent addition to our rig.  We made it back to S.F. in just under 5 hours, with very little traffic.  As much as I miss towing with the Jeeps, I have to admit to the advantages of towing with a V-8.  HMMM!, Maybe I could swap a Hemi into the Jeep! (I never run out of projects).  Speaking of which, we were thinking of rigging a DVD projector to project a movie on the side of a rig with white canvas covering it, sort of a pull up a chair or blanket summer drive-in thing for some of the summer gatherings.  Anyone interested?  Anyway back to the grind

That's funny, we were thinking of bring our LCD TV on this trip and offering a "Kids night at the movies". I thought it might have been fun for the kids for one evening. However, we didn't want to offer it and then have to back out at the last minute because of my medical procedure a few days before the camp-out. As it was, I was sick most of the weekend. :morning: That's what I get for trying to keep up with the Fish Squad on our first night there. :eyecrazy:

Well, it took us 3 hours to get home, and that even included stopping for lunch.  Took the Trailer into the dealer to get my little electrical self inflicted problem fixed, and should have it back by the end of the week. And it looks like they can do it under my warranty...sweet.    We had a great time and really liked the area up there.  The wine tasting was even a blast.  We are not wine drinkers but bought 3 or 4 bottles of wine.  Met some cool new people we are looking forward to camping with again.  I think the lesson of the weekend would be to roll up the awning if it gets windy.  The Fish Squad was true to form this weekend with all three nights going well past midnight an only getting told to quiet down once(Has to be a new record).  Thanks to Karen for setting all this up, and to Wes for making those cool laminated signs. See you in April at Newport Dunes.

It took us about 4 1/2 hours to get home and didn't hit much traffic.  We had a fun time and the kids had a blast as usual.  Thanks again for Dave & Lori for putting our awning away during the wind storm.

Lori!  Sarah wants to thank Griffin for rubbing her knee after she fell and hurt it.

Looking forward to our next trip.

One more camp out under our belts and we had such a good time.......The CG was very nice and we enjoyed the pool's.  Met some new friends and caught up with all the news from the old friends.  Pot lucks were so yummy ...... saw some really cool new trailers.........Thanks for everything you did Karen and Wes very good job indeed......We enjoyed our extra day and wished we could add a few more but it truly is quiet around the CG with out the SCCampers.......Only bad side was poor Jim and the trots all night long after dinner out......Next time he will not be eating Mushrooms......????
We had no traffic going home and made it in 4 1/2 hours same amount of time as coming.......
We really loved the signs made for the campers thanks for the extra work it took to make them.......Also, a big thank you for the parking space I really needed the extra help after climbing those stairs..............!!!!!
I'll be posting my pics in a day or two.......

looks like nobody hit bad traffic returning home...that's great!  we made home in about 3 1/2 hrs...it's sooo nice to keep moving.
we had a great time and i'm glad you all enjoyed yourselves, too.  you all made it look easy to be a wagonmaster.  thanks very much to all of you.  i enjoyed meeting some new folks and hangin' with the old ones.  good times, indeed.  and if had to rain (as it nearly always does), at least the good Lord timed it well, waiting til after the potluck and then drying out by the time we had to pack up!

see ya all around the campfire

We left the campground on Tues A.m about 9:30 and arrived home at 8:00 p.m.

We did manage to hit traffic on the 210 Santa Clairita thru Altadena it only took us 12 1/2 hours to get home.  But we did stop in Ventura to visit Mom and Grandma, took them out to lunch and visited awhile, then got on the road again at 3:00 perfect timing huh!     We had a great time  but  we will have to figure a way to avoid traffic next time.  By the time we arrived home we just parked the tV & tt and we will drive it up to Ramona tonight after work, its about another 30 minutes drive from here.

OMG!!!!! I totally forgot to thank Wes for the cool signs..they were awesome

BTW it took us a just over 3 hours to get home

Ya....THANKS! Wes.

Cool signs. We love ours. We're going to leave it in the window. Karen did a great job as WagonMaster.

It only took us 3 hours too and we stopped at a few CG on the way home.

Hello Everyone,

We had a great time and wanted to thank everyone for making our first experience with sccampers a great one.   A special thanks to chezway for inviting us, and darksiders for organizing the event (our sign is cool).  But I must say it was a blast (literally

Chez Way

What a fun rally!  Thanks again Karen--you did a great job, everything was perfect!  Wes, we love our rally sign.  Also, many thanks to Brad--the wine tasting tour was fantastic and we couldn't have asked for better service or steak at AJ Spurs.  I'm looking forward to using my cowboy boot mug around the campfire.  Dee--thanks for keeping the fire stoked and pouring the cactus coolers--good thing the poker table stakes were kept to a minimum...yikes!  The potlucks were scrumptious as usual.

We can't wait to go back in June for more fun in Buellton!

griffsmom

Well, another SCCampers rally is in the books!  Griffsfamily had a great time, as always.  Even the rain didn't dampen our fun (Dee, I want to see the pictures of C-man!!) Besides, if it rains on a SCCampers rally, everything is obviously right with the world! :J

Reading the previous posts, it sounds like Griffy was a busy boy playing and visiting with all his camping friends!  Thanks to everyone who went on high alert looking for him when I "lost" him for those very scary 15 minutes on Friday evening. And a special thanks to Mr. Jim for keeping him company (and safe!) when he wanted to have "a little conversation." :)

Big thanks to Karen for spearheading the wagonmastering duties and to Wes for a rockin' rally sign.  Also, thanks to Brad and Mary for orgainizing the wine tasting tour and our night out at AJ spurs.  I wished I could have gone on the tour like I had originally planned, but last night at 12:45 a.m., when I finished the book I was researching while camping, I was glad I didn't have to do the 7 chapters I was able to complete while everyone else was out having fun.  btw, why is it that 12:45 a.m. when you're working makes you tired, and 12:45 a.m. around a campfire means you're just getting started? ;)

The potlucks were great!  A few people asked me for the recipes I made at the dinner potluck.  I'll post those in the recipe section in the next few days.

I hope everyone had as much fun as we did. SCCampers will be returning to this cg for our June rally, so if you haven't signed up yet but want to now, mosey on over to here and sign up!

Is it June yet?

Camping Coxes

I finally have a few minutes to say thank you to Karen and Wes and everyone.   We had a good time (albeit it was hard to completely relax waiting for my phone to ring and expecting to have to race home).

I too had to make it a working weekend, so I missed out on the campfire time.  Saturday night I was exhausted from the drama with my mom the previous day, and Sunday night I was working on the laptop all evening while Paul took the kids to the movies.   David represented our family for a little while out there though.

Hopefully it won't be too long before we can join everyone again.  First games for softball for Emily are Saturday, first swim meet for David are next Friday.  So it begins......
