So, how many sites are you going to be able to get?  Is all of Birch open right now, or does it depend on the weekend you're looking at?

Dee4j

It looks like this thread went crazy today..i have to get ready for work

Bob....you plan it...We will come...& I like the weekend choices the kids does a whole big deal on the Fri before Halloween so I was hoping you wouldn't pick that weekend...but if you do I will still come just get there later

TheViking

Were in!  Let us know the Dates so we can arrange the time off.

Chez Way

Bob,

This sounds like a great location for the rally.  Sign up Chez Way and the Darksiders (right, Karen?)

Thanks for sorting through all this and coming up with a solution.

Quote from: griffsdadI happen to think that Bakersfield is lovely year round!!! I'm also fond of tule fog, Buck Owens and the Buckaroos, Okkies, Merle Haggard, and white lightning. I'm not joking!

Yeah, and I bet you eat catsup on your eggs, too ... or is it hot sauce?

We're in.  I will talk to my friend, Laura,  who came last time and see if they'd like to attend.  The kids like getting carrots from the check-in station to feed the animals.  This too will give us the opportunity to visit friends that live near Magic Mountain.

Good thing Dave gets home earlier than I do and was able to sign us up. Are all 10 sites (not counting the wagonmaster's site) already taken? If so, I think this rally went faster than the current record held by darksiders for February's Flying Flags rally!!

One other thought: 11 is probably the smallest Halloween rally we'll have ever had. Are there any sites available in Alder? it might be a good idea to reserve those too, so more of us can attend the rally, even if we're not all together.

PS Let me know what dates you decide and then we can start the new rally thread! :-()

Quote from: AzusateachI'm in for this -- looks MUCH more appealing than Bakersfield in October! (No offense meant, Bob.) My vote would be for the 12th-14th -- that way Lori & I could celebrate our birthdays together! :D

yep, he's a Tabasco boy   :sombraro:

Quote from: griffsmomBob, you are so sweet to try and be accommodating to everyone. I hope this doesn't scare you off from ever wagonmastering a rally again! :eyecrazy:

If we are throwing more hats into the ring, how about Far West Resorts? It's in Santa Paula (out by Ojai), so it's up the 101 (read: no grapevine) and is a little less "far north." There's no beach or lake, but apparently, there's a fun vintage train ride in nearby Fillmore. The Birch loop might be nice for all of us yahoos...
Lori great job for picking this site and Bob for being the wagonmaster.

To all who believe that the armpit of central calif is a bad place well too bad on you. If Dave ever comes to Bakersfield and I have the time off, Im going to take him to Buck's place, the Crystal palace for a great steak dinner or maybe breakfast for the eggs with tobasco sauce! This is what lawyers should do, stand up for the little guy!

Do I come to Bakersfield? Of course I do - at least four times a year. Bob your're on I would love to go to Buck's place for a steak dinner. And by the way I put toabasco on almost everything - including my favorite - anchovie and jalapeno pizza. :-()

---- In July, where there's no air moving at all and you get to sit in the hot sun on concrete and watch your daughter play softball against the best of the best in So. Cal.

Gas to get to Lancaster tournament - $60
Hotel room with not enough beds so the kids sleep on the floor - $130
Restaurant costs, tournament souvenirs and junk food - $75
Watching your daughter strike out another All Star team's big hitter - Priceless.
