Camping Coxes

Quote from: Freedom_5Trina, I not only expect you to be there but insist and won't take no for answer! All those times that you wanted to go but couldn't meant that this RALLY was the one to be at! Don't let the past rule your future! You are in control of what you do and you do not want to dishonor the SCCampers!
Be there or be square!
If we make it we'll have to be a last minute slide-in for somebody's cancellation. David will be playing water polo this year, unless he tears the other shoulder up this summer!!!!  We won't know if he has a tournament the weekend of the campout until a few weeks before.

Nice location Lori and Bob!  Count us in for Halloween in the 805. :)

That explains the smell!!!!! LOL :)

All kidding aside, I like Lancaster too. And you get more bang for the buck when you purchase a home.

Quote from: Freedom_5Hi All;
Since things are still up in the air, I want to make another suggestion tonight.
The polling has for the most part, come to a conclusion. I want to throw another campsite into the works for all of your considerations!
 http://www.campingfriend.com/PyramidLakeRVResort/default.asp?file=Home
Yes it is still on the grapevine but you WON'T have to drive as far! It has some good things about it. Look at the site and if the link dosen't work type in Pyramid lake RV resort. This campsite would save at least 90 minutes off the drive over the grapevine. I have never been to this one so it would be new for us as well as for others. It is seculed off the freeway.
Well let me know. I am trying to make it more logistical for the majority.

For future reference

I e-mail my friend who lives near there and jet skii's some of you know Her she has visited us with her 2 boys and her baby of a Doberman

I have never been to that RV resort but it does look like the picture.  (I've driven by it).  It's right next to the freeway.  Are you planning to go out on the lake?

also, it's out in the middle of nowhere.  Frasier Park is a few miles away and that's about it!

The lake is pretty nice but very crowded during the summer on the weekend.  When we used to go there in the 90s, you HAD to camp overnight in the crappy campground near the lake in order to get on the lake at all.  (They let the campers go in front of the line).  They limit the amount of boats and skis they let on the lake so if you're not in line early, you don't get on.
The lake has no day beach that you can walk to--all your stuff has to go on a ski or boat and you drive out to a spot.  I think there is a swimming beach at the marina, but you can't park your boat there so it is not helpful.  That is why we don't go anymore even though it's close. We can't ride out with our kids and all our stuff.

There was an oil spill because of a leaking pipe last summer or the summer before, but it's probably cleaned up by now.  You can maybe call the lake to ask questions.  They have a Visitors Center up on the hill.
Hope that helps!
When are you going?  Friend's boat?

Santa Paula is good. We're still in and it's only an hour from us. Remember they only have water and electric. They do have a dump station though.Moose

They also have a meeting room if we want to reserve it.Moose

Do you feel like someone listening to the "Who's on First" sketch?  :D

I agree -- let's get this settled, post a sign-up, and forget about it until August.  There's lots of camping to be done between now & then!

As of now, the halloween camping is in Santa Paula 1 hr from Magic Mountain.  It's very pretty there and has a petting zoo.

Estelle,

Just say YES you want a spot - It's Oct. 19-21.  We'll fill you in later with the  details, but I don't want to see your name on a waiting list and there is only 20 spots.  :D Kristi
