Quote from: BootheBunchI only pasted what had to do with the actual dirt at a campground (well, the physical dirt, not the spoken dirt).

And, I AM talking dirt about dirt.  But, I don't feel the least bit guilty about it. Dirt is yucky.

Anyway, I am off to make cupcakes with the girls....we are going to be do-gooders...make cupcakes and pass them out to the neighborhood kids.  No dirt in the recipe.

Lisa
Just don't be talking "dirt" about camping, to the neighborhood kids. :sombraro:

Besides.....what's wrong with a little soil or sand in your cupakes......you've gotta do some dessert (or is that desert :p ) camping :D

Quote from: TheVikingOh.....so now you're doggin the people that have generators!!!!!!   LOL

Not at all.  Just those who camp near me and run their generators more than an hour  or so per day.

It was a nice, cool week at the beach.  The only time we ran the fan was when the porta potti was in use.  I have no idea what these people needed the generators on for but the neighbors on one side ran theirs for many hours each day.  Crock pot cooking with generator maybe?  It was a modern toyhauler so I presume the converter would charge batteries pretty quickly.

Then new neighbors pulled in.  Unhitch trailer and start generator.  Oh no, not again!  But he just used it to power his electric drill for the stabilizers.  The next day the wife walked over and said she needed the generator for about an hour to recharge the batteries and asked if we were going to be away from the site anytime.  I thanked her for the consideration and that we'd go to the beach at 1:00- I presume she ran it while we were out.

Well, we all know what kind of people those Toyhauler owners are. Ewwww

I doubt they were cooking...most likely watching tv, listening to the radio, playing video games, all of which take AC not DC

dave & Lori used theirs and Brandon fired his up for me to make breakfast burritos and I really didn't notice them...they are very easy to "tune out"

JimQPublic

Toyhaulers are unique among trailers in that they often have large gasoline tanks for their "fueling station" and therefore can run the generator for a long, long time before refueling.

TV? Radio? Don't RV's come with DC versions?

I still think it must have been the crockpot.

no... that's what the generator is for.

TheViking

It could have been the TV.  Mine will not run on DC power.  The AC needs the Gen to run.  Oh, and as I found out, a blow dryer and flat iron also needs a gen to run....:screwy:

In my opinion, anyone that runs their generator all day to cook in a crock pot is a nut.  And yes, ours has a 36 gallon fuel station that is used to run the generator and to fuel up the quads.
