Don't have any blankets to spare...might need'm later... How about an ice saw? you could build your own igloo camper at the local campground....

Well I have an update, this morning when I woke up (5:30) it was 10 degrees.  We seem to be having a heatwave.  This sucks!  C'mon summer!

ForestCreature

Well, if it weren't for the crops that cold is going to harm, I'd be LMAO at you guys. As we sit here looking out at all the ice covered trees with a light snow
falling. That's after 6 hours without power in balmy 30 degree temps.

Miller Tyme

No ice here, but does 6 inches of snow make up for it?

@#&%* snowblower wouldn't start---neighbor with a Quad w/plow blade came over and made short work of it....:frosty:

And I made sure I swept the snow off of the Pal......;)

We are freezing here in AZ also. We hit 20 this morning, froze our water pipes and a lot of dead plants now. DH had to come home from work to so some repairs to the pipes. My parents drove down to AZ to get out of the cold..........oh well at least it warms up in the afternoon. I was just glad we weren't camping this past weekend.

It was 36 degrees when DD played her in her soccer game this past weekend. This cold spell won't last long. We will be wishing for it to return when it is 115 this summer.

Quote from: TheVikingThis morning we are experiencing a cold like we never have here in SoCal. Right now at 8:00 am it is 3 degrees.  With the winds it is -7. That's cold no matter where you are!

The news said that 3 degrees there in Lancaster was a record low!  Wow!!  Too bad it didn't rain/snow!

My mom lives in Norwalk and she called yesterday to say she had no hot water coming out (as in nothing coming through the pipes, hot or cold) in her rear bathroom that morning, but later when her renter went back there to figure it out for her, she had hot water.  They figured the pipe must have frozen.  We've never had that happen because my dad had the pipe run under the patio cover, where it is well protected by three walls.  Well, mom had one of those city programs update and remodel her house, and in their wisdom, to make it per current code, they rerouted the pipe onto the roof of the patio, where it's completely exposed!!!!!  My mom's renter checked it and it didn't burst, thank goodness, and he promptly went do Home Depot and got some pipe insulation and installed it for her.

This is Southern California, we're a stone's throw from Surf City USA, and we're having to worry about frozen pipes???  Crazy   :eyecrazy:

Pretty darn cold in Northern California too.  Randy's truck got egged last night.  But when he went to wash it off  the hose was frozen.  He then went inside and got a bucket of water and when it hit the sidewalk we had an instant ice rink.  Saddest part is according to the news, 90% of all the california citrus crops are ruined.  Just something else to go up in price.

It's still not as cold as predicted here in North Carolina.
The plus side of your cold weather...You don't have to buy any ice to keep your beer cold...........

and shoveling snow..no thanks  my kids barley make it to school ontime now could you imagine having to shovel snow first.  :eyecrazy:

I love the snow for about...5-6 hours then I'm done. and it's only a little over an hour away. :D  I can visit ...then leave ( and go to the beach :sombraro: )

It's here and I DON'T LIKE IT :swear:  snowy, icy, and 16* at 12:30. Guess we can be happy the power was only out for a little over 6 hrs yesterday and not all night.  That would have meant cranking up that LOUD generator.
Less than 2 weeks ago it was an abnormal 60* :S , I was kind of liking that for winter weather.
