There was once a link to Google Earth showing Campgrounds.....does anyone know where that is?

I didn'y know they had that. I just insert the address of the campround.

I love Google earth. t gives yo a better idea than those campground maps

I think it's great too. You get to look around the area also and get an idea of what's around.

The thing that you have to keep in mind is that the images that you are viewing may be several years old. The image of my building is from 2004 and it is a populated area. I think that some of the rural areas are updated less frequently. The image of our property in Fallbrook, CA is from 2002 and the area has changed a lot.

Anyway, if you look in the left side menu on Google Earth, you will find a number of boxes that you can check. On the lower section, you can scroll down to one that says "Parks and Recreation Areas". Maybe that is what you were thinking of. If you check that box, it will place a "pine tree" on all of the State Parks etc.

Thanks AB that is the one........duhhhhhhhh! There is a satellite button that will give the google earth view.

They have a link to add campgrounds.  I've added a handful that I was aware of, as well as correcting a few locations.  It's the kind of thing that works best if everyone participates.  If your favorite campground is not there, add it (unless you really, really, really want to keep it to yourself).
