Well, I was on the phone at 7:55 & dialed non-stop until 8:10, when I got through but was #4.  Another 8 minutes go by & Fox is full.  The only area that's available is Bass, but it has just water & electricity.  Another issue is the bathrooms.  No showers, so it's a drive to Fox.  Because of the number of people who want full hook-ups (and after a discussion with Dee), I've NOT made any reservations.

Four days with no sewer for some is a stretch, but more than that, lack of decent bathrooms for everybody seems to be a deal-breaker, especially in August when it will be most likely be very, very warm.

I still have everyone's check.  We can try for another CG & I'll use the checks for that, I can return them, or I can tear them up.

I'm so sorry.  Guess it's the luck of the draw.  Back to the drawing board ...

We are still up for Lake Castias but am willing to elsewhere also.   We can go to Far West Resorts near Magic Mountain or the San Diego KOA.  I can even give Wagonmastering another whirl.

We stayed in Bass last year and enjoyed it.  The lake is on one side and a large grassy area for the kids to play on the other.  The kids can ride their bikes around the camping area and will be in full view at all times.  These sites only have electric & water.  The showers I believe are at the entrance which is a very short distance from where you camp.  It too is much closer to the water park than fox.  Just saying.

hey, what about Ventura Bch RV Resort?  after i heard some bad review and that there were prob.s w/ the homeless, i asked my friend at church that had recommended it about this stuff.  he told me his family (he has young children) has camped there about 30x and they've never had a problem. they really like it.  he did, however say not to go there when the fair is in town, because a lot of the people who work the fair camp there.

anywho, just throwin it out there...we can talk it over at FF this weekend.

This is a CG that I have to say is very clean and well ran. But since it is right next to the 101 it is loud the whole day and night from freeway traffic. I guess if you are in a hard sided RV and used your air inside you can drown out the outside noise but is that what you call camping.
I personally would not recommend this CG.  :(
Now everyone going up north this coming weekend, you will be driving right past it. So take a look for your self.
As you are leaving Ventura on the 101 heading north, you will come to the Ojai exit, as you past this exit you will be on a bridge crossing a river bed. The riverbed is the southern end of the CG. Get in the right lane and look over the edge and you will see the CG.

PS.....The Ventura County fair is from Aug 1 -12th this year

What's that supposed to mean?

I've been looking for another place for us to go and have found 2 suggestions.  I haven't been to any of these campgrounds but they may be somewhere fun to go.

East Shore RV Park in San Dimas (eastshorervpark.com).  Their prices run from $43-$46/night depending on the view and it includes electric/water/sewer.  They are right next to Raging Waters waterpark.

Pomona Fairplex KOA -They are 5 minutes from the waterpark .  If we have  less than 9 trailers the price is $38.12/nite and 10+ trailers, the price is $33/night.  These sites include electric/water/sewer.   This campground also has a pool on the premises in case you don't want to go the the park.

Both of these places have openings for us.  If interested, I'll give wagonmastering a whirl.  I'll have to check the website regarding a pool there.

I think KOA Metro in August would be nice, not too hot. its is a nice place, clean and if we got the grass triangle together the kids could play in the center.  there is a pool, gameroom, and bike rentals.  But I heard they sold the campground and I havent' been there since its been sold.
