Hello, I know is is a really stupid question, but I gotta ask anyway.

DW just booked us at a campground with w/e/s hookups.  Upon further inspection by me, the grumpy a-retentive planner, it states the sites are 50 amp service.

Our pup has the standard 30 amp plug...do I need any type adapter for this new fangled 50 amp service box?

thanks......

No such thing as a stupid question.  Check with the campground, sites with 50 amp service often have a 30 amp plug too.  If it is only a 50 amp outlet you will need an adapter.  I have a dog bone type adapter.  The male end of the plug has the prongs for the 50 amp service and the female end of the plug has the openings for the 30 amp plug on you power cord.:)

Thank you.  I will call the campground tomorrow!

this should get you hooked up
if they only have 50 amp service.  But like it was mentioned, if they have 50, chances are there's a 30 amp plug in the pedistal too.

Hey, thanks for the link.

Doesn't look like I'll need one just yet.  I called the campground (run by the ARMY Corps of Engineers), and they said each site has a 50 amp plug, a 30 amp plug, and two dedicated 110 volt 20 amp regular house plugs.  Neat! now I can bring a whole bunch of electrical stuff I don't really need!

But thanks for the link.  I believe I'll go ahead and get one, for the future, just in case!

What you described is getting to be pretty normal, especially if they cater to larger RVs.

A lot of the newer campgrounds (or ones that are into maintaining their facilities) will have at least a 30 & 15 amp plug at the pedistals.  Usually you'll see the 50 amp service on the pull thru big boy spots.

It's always handy to have an assortment of adapters for your rig.

15 to 30, 30 to 15, 50 to 30.  Most places we've been to sell the hockey puck adapters in their general stores, but it's better to have your own in the rig ready to go instead of banking on the general store having one for you.

I'm changing my rig this spring from 15 amp service to 30 and plan on having both 50amp to 30 amp and 30amp to 15 amp dogbones in my supply tote just in case.
