Hey Tracey!
Are you back at the campground? What's it like? My friend called the CG office and they said the expected accumulation has been increased and they will probably be closing the office early. Don't know what we're going to do yet. DH is making his decision in an hour.

Well Tracey it hasn't been an hour but DH has made his decision. We will be a no-show. Our friends tried to get out of their neighborhood to go to the RV dealer to pick up their trailer and couldn't even get out of their neighborhood because of traffic problems and road conditions. We are crazy campers but we are not CRAZY! I'm sorry we will miss this outing. Stay warm and be safe!

I-84 is shut down due to numerous accidents.  I hope Tracy is okay.  Cheryl, I think you guys made the right choice.

It is sleeting bad here.  The roads are slick. I left work early because someone called Jeffreys cell phone from INSIDE my house, he is INdiana with his dad, so I left to check things out and found the back door unlocked and the ding room window unlocked AGAIN, I relocked it yesterday...I wonder if they can jiggle the lock loose on that window....Nothing seems to be missing. I am waiting for a co-worker to come and take me to get the truck i left next to the Cottman Nam...do not know if she will now or not.

Where is that bike???? it is about 2 miles down hill!!!In the sleet.

We will be at Spring Gulch and will be doing Shady Maple for breakfast saturday morning.  I just heard from my father that he is stuck on the turnpike west of morgantown.  He will end up having to stay in a hotel tonight because of running out of hours on his log because of the weather.  It must be getting nasty out there.  We now have 1-2 inches of sleet/slush down here along with a stiff wind.

SheBantam

Scott, it is bad out there and getting worse.  My friend who lives in Pennsville swung by the house to get me and Boulden Blvd was almost stopped. I got the truck at the BK parking lot (Scott works in the area so he knows what I am talking about)295 was crawling, so I hit Moores Lane and was going to go get a hair cut tonight...about the NC police station, I decidded that was NOT a good ides, I think Rt. 9 was backed up to Hares Corner and not moving at all.  I turned in the police station so I could make a left and go the milish home. Here I sit...cold...but with BOTH tow vehicles safely in the drive.
Glad I had the cap, Pick ups were sliding around, so I had the extra weight in back, but still felt it want to give...glad I had not made plans to tow.

Never been to SPring Gulch, though it is a hop skip and a jump as far as campgrounds are concerned around this area.
Now you may be able to talk me into Shady Maple for breakfast...OH what a breakfast!!! Just do not sleep in, they stop serving I thing 10:30 to set up the EXPENSIVE lunch buffet.  But there is a cafeteria in the grocery and around 11:00 or noon the snack bar in the gift shop opens for lunch, they do not do breakfast...
So what time are we having breakfast???

Hi Tracy
Sorry that you are down there by youself. We are thinking about you.
How is it over there? I guess we have about 6 inches so far and possibly another 2 inches of sleet/ice on top of it.And my snowblower broke.
I guess Mike and I will have to do some manual labor tommorrow.

Hey all!

Tracy, just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you...  Like Andy said, I'm sorry you're there alone.  We have about 15 inches of snow, and now it's been sleeting for about an hour on top of that...

Bummer about your snow blower.  There is about a foot of snow.  I eye balled it.  Will measure it tomorrow and take pictures.  Thanks for thinking about me.  If everyone post we can pretend to be camping.:D

SheBantam

Tracy brave soul that you are. Wish I was there with you...we have about 3 to 4 inches of sleet. it is hard to tell for sure since sleet is heavy and compacts...NOTHING is moving in the neighborhoos but a couple of deisel 4 wheel drives around 6:00 AM. I do not hear much on I 295, which is within earshot...heard a lot of transformers blow throughout the night so had the heat a little higher ans the bed warmer on just incase the power went out in the night, I could be warmer a little longer. SSo it looks like if I want to go anywhere today I will be hoofing it as the radio says the temp will only get tp 33 and with clouds does not look like there will be much melt off here...Raymond is staying in Indian to tomorrow.

Cheryl

Hi Tracey,
Virtual camping is a nice idea but the warmth from the campfire just doesn't cut it! LOL
I hope you had a safe warm night. It took DH more than an hour to get home from work yesterday (a normal 25 minute drive). We got about 6 inches of snow and it made for a real mess on the highways.
I hope you had a safe warm night. Have fun today and a safe drive home when you pack up.

Good morning Tracy
I hope you are well.
As long as the weight of the snow is not caving in the roof and bunkends, you'll be ok, i guess. The best thing for you is probably to stay put until the roads are cleared.Let me know how things are ,when you get a chance.
