I reordered mine today...and just found out Christian will be with us..so now one of us can't  go.  I ordered them two weeks ago by fax but I guess their fax machine wasn't working and they never received my fax...so today order by telephone. I think its kind of expensive...then to charge another $7.50 reservation fee and if you want to watch your children they don't offer dry passes either.  Children cost the same as adults.  Sorry to whine I Just felt it was a little expensive.

I have a ....er...um... "special" day coming up during that camp-out. My kids & grandkids will be coming up one day. They wanta make fun of me.... :p  and trying to hide-out in the mountains just won't work. :sombraro:

Kim what we have done in the past when just a few of us, we would decide on a meal plan. sometimes we've picked a theme like Italian, someone would do pasta , then someone else salad etc. we also have done bring your own meat to BBq and all bring a side dish to compliment the meal
and serve it (big)family style or buffet however you see to do it. this way you can all sit down and eat at the same time

just my .02 cents worth...Have fun :p

I think we should BQ! there is a huge uncontrolled fire in the area right now..I'm not even sure the campground is open right now.

Lake Casitas is still open. The Zaca fire is still pretty far away the lake, although the smoke and ash is pretty bad. This fire has been burning since July 4th and is really burning up the backcountry. Here is a good site for info  http://www.yubanet.com/zaka.shtml

Tell you one thing, The Antelope Valley is getting all the smoke from this fire.

The fire is quite a ways North of Lake Casitas but I'm not real excited about going up there and breathing smoke. I hope this won't be a problem. If we get NW winds, that will drive the smoke (and fire)  South-East, toward Lake Casitas.

There's a possibility we won't be making this trip.  DH mentioned the fire and smoke/ash and if things don't get better, we'll probably be cancelling.
 
If we do end up going, I'm up for BBQ.
