Here in south western Ohio we've just had two days in a row of above freezing weather - 65 yesterday and about 50 today. So naturally thoughts of camping have enter my mind -like they were ever gone through out the winter. But I've noticed the first signs of Spring around here; my neighbor has uncover his motor home and DW has said she's heard the first spring chirps of a Harley Davidson; sure signs that Spring is just around the corner. Now, I was wondering if anyone else has noticed any non-traditional signs that Spring and camping season is upon us. :-()

I got the same thing here! I live in Ketering OH. so your nor far away! I got my new to me pop up out and cleaned it up on sat. What a great day! After the rain. I left it up all night to air out.Looks like another great day today. I got to listen to all the people ride thier bikes up and down the street today also. But I was the first in my neiborhood to get my camper out. I live in an area with lots of snow birds so they arent back yet but I will see them setting up camp in the driveway soon. Heres to Spring!!!

Hey Neighbor! :W  We're having another great day here in SW Ohio. Low 50's and sunshine.  I still haven't retrieved our PUP from my brother in law's barn as the ground's still too wet. I can't hardly waite to get it out and open it up though. The Band I play with ( Level Ground Band ) is booking festivals and county fairs right now so that's another sign that Spring is right around the corner. DW and DD just walked in the door with a package of porkchops and a tank of propane -the official hand off of cooking duties- another sure sign that Spring is near.  But, if you live in Ohio then you'll  understand when I say that the surrest sign that Spring is here are the ORANGE BARRELS. When they're in full bloom then you know for sure the season is upon us!!! DD ('03) keeps asking when we're going camping so she's more than ready!  :)

Sorry you all are having that cold snowy weather!! But here in Vegas today it's a warm 84*!!  The kids have been outside all day in shorts and no shoes. I think you all need to move out West. We're getting warm early so that means we're in for a Very Very Hot Summer!!!!! Thank the man above for AC........

Weather's been great here in Sacramento, as well.  Cruising around today in a tank top with the top down.

Almost had to think about turning on the AC as the house got up to 77!

You can keep the 95, isn't that like  being in a constant hot flash ?
Just the thought is frightening me!

Looks like spring has sprung.
We had a great day yesterday , we welcomed in spring with 4 slabs of ribs on the smoker.  A nice fire in the back yard pit, A few good friends and some tasty Mango Rum.

We grill year round here, the heat of the grill melts the snow on top.  I saw someone towing a PUP down the road today.  Can't wait for Easter, our first trip this year.

wavery

It was hotter here today than it was all last summer (86).

A HUGE lump of snow in my driveway melted away in the last couple of days. What do you suppose emerged from under it?  A (very dirty) 1999 Coleman Cheyenne!  Woo hoo! Happy days are here again!

Yesterday was one of the most beautiful days you ever ask for -weather wise- for March in Ohio. Got up to 76F, low humidity, and lots of sun.:S Today is rain, but warm (for a March day in Ohio) 60F, but they're talking about snow flurries this weekend.  I'm planning also for late April as our first outing for the year. Can't wait for the season to begin!! :banghead:

Hi Zamboni - I lived in the Merced/Atwater area back in the mid '70s. Stationed at Castle AFB. Did some camping back then around Yosemite, Kings Canyon area and a couple of times and hour or two north of Sacramento; don't remember exactly where. It was all tent camping back then for us. Me and dear ex-wife. (Would that be DXW or XDW?) What I remember most about living in the "Valley" (what 90 -100 miles south of you?)was you had two seasons. 50 degrees and fog. (winter) and and blazin' 105 degrees and dry (summer). The way you knew winter was over was when you left for work one morning and it was about 90 degrees out.  I'm sure my memory has exaggerated the situation somewhat. Actually, I liked Sacramento very much and considered it as one of the places I would like to settle. My current DW (and last I might add) and I are both from Ohio so I doubt that'll happen, but would love to take her to see Yosemite and all my old stomping grounds someday. I checked out your web site and you guys have a nice place there.

After a few nice days (finally!), The camper is open and cleaned, the neigborhood kids are outside playing, and something is poking it's head out of my mulch!
