I had a 2005 Futura Grand Lodge demo unit for almost 2 years and had no quality issues at all. It was acutally the best towing camper of the 12 or 13 campers that I've towed. Since we didn't own it we didn't want to add any personal touches to it other than a PUT bumper sticker.

I'm picking up a new Coachmen Clipper with everything on it next week. And since we're buying this one we can "make it our own".

IIRC, you used to own a Palomino...something with a 14' box and two axles.  Is that a correct reccolection?  What did you think of the Palomino?

I really love my Palomino.  I think it is darn near the perfect camper.  Did I tell you that I really love my Palomino?  :D

Good thing you are getting rid of it before it became 13 years old and the pulley wore out.....At least another member has steel ones for sale.

Sorry, It's just that my shorts are in a bunch.....

I think it only has one axle.  Ask Hersheygirl she can tell you.:D

Well, she responded before you did, and she didn't correct me, so that's a good sign... :D

Dave's Palomino was a 13.5 ft box and a single axle. I bought Dave's camper and I LOVE it! It is a great camper and I plan on keeping it for a long time.

Yea well ~ just have to say ... I LOVE my Jayco! ;)

And I am happy with my Coleman.  Seriously though, I think all the manufacturers do a good job.  When you consider that what they are building are basically low cost entry level RVs that don't weigh alot.  I think that I would have been happy with a rig from any of the manufacturers.

Looking at today's list prices for pop-ups (especially when compared to hybrids), I'm not sure the term "low cost" applies any more.  But when you consider the number of major moving parts (entire roof, bunk ends, slide-outs, folding galleys, etc.), and the fact that all that stuff has to be low weight and take a beating on back roads, it's a wonder they don't cost more.

A pop-up manufacturer that makes junk won't survive, but the same can be said for a manufacturer that doesn't squeeze wherever he can.  My hat's off to any pop-up manufacturer who stays in this business.

Austin (yep, we love our Coleman/Fleetwood)

Hersheygirl bought the 2000 Palomino in November 2004. Great camper.

I got the Futura in June 2005 and sold it (for Coachmen) this past January. Nice camper but I didn't care for the floor plan.

The new Clipper is 12' with a slide and a front trunk. check it out - http://www.coachmenclipper.com/showroom/2007/classic/1285st.htm
My biggest camper yet.

My '97 Jeep GC has 125000 miles and is on its 5th camper.  I'm counting on it to have another round-trip to Michigan left in it. I'm going to the Viking factory to pickup the camper on April 2nd.

LOVE my new coachmen clipper!!!  What's even better is that until April 30th, coachmen is running a "TWICE AS NICE" promo.  You get a free screen room with privacy curtains!!

If you got a real truck that would be barely broken in ;)

When you come to MI , wave as you go by..or if you stay the night let us know. Maybe we can meet up fior a quickie visit.

Dave,
I've got the Viking (2005) version of that trailer. It has been great.
My only complaint is that we don't get enough time to use it.

May can't come soon enough.
