punctuation and capitalization makes it a lot easier to understand what a person is trying to say when you leave punctuation out it makes it more difficult for others to understand what you are typing for an example consider this it makes perfect sense when it has proper punctuation

but without punctuation that statement appears to be total nonsense so please try to put in periods question marks commas and capital letters when and where they are needed thanks

The preceeding paragraph contains factual errors.  An example is the letters do not constitute a "taotl mses;" the letters are still mostly in the proper sequence (especially compound words).  Just some of the letters are messed up, and those don't travel far.  Oh, and the average person who can read it takes twice or three times as long, so spelling does count for ease of reading.  The only point that is completely correct is that we do read words as a whole.

If you deciphered both paragraphs, you almost certanly took many times as long with mine than Wayne's; that's because the original author(s) mixed up some of the letters, but not all.  What I have done is to put the letters (between the first and the last) in alphabetical order, making sure they had no relationship to the original order.  Some words will obviously be easy to deciper; there is only one way to misspell words with four letters if the first and last are not changed.  But the order does count.  We also gain meaning from context, so we can figure a word out if it's in a paragraph.  But try to get this commonly-used word right:
