Hey All,

I did some searching on VELCRO here in Mr Fix-It and came up with some hits.  I saw many were talking about having to re-velcro canvas by the doors.

In my camper, recently purchased, i have Velcro coing loose in the four corners of the camper.  Looks like the velcro strip pulled away fro the adhesive (or the adhesive gave way).  There doesn't appear to be any water damage that caused the issue.  It is an 89 Coleman with a lot of up and down and I am thinking that there is a lot of stress from canvas pull on those four corners.

Is the 3M 2bl sided Auto Tape still the recommendation or has anyone come up with something different?  I saw the marine "goop" as well - which may be my best so so I do not have to take off ALL of the sidewall canvas to re-strip with velcro.

I have seen that someone used rivets to hold the velcro in place at the corners of the lifts, if that is what you are taking about.

I posted sometime back about using the automotive double sided tape on each side of the camper door as a base.  Seems I remember someone else posting about finding a heavy duty velcro (about the same as orginal) at Lowe's bldg Supply(?)

The double sided automotive tape works fine but you have to buy a roll ... then when are you ever going to use up the rest of the roll?

Whatever way you go, make sure you clean the area your going to have whatever adherred to real clean (in my case it was aluminum), or it'll come lose again very shortly.

I replaced all the velcro at the corners and by the door with an indusrial strength velcro and it is holding up very well. I found it at Wal Mart and have also seen it at Ace Hardware. Be sure that it is "industrial strength" when buying. Like Fly sez, make sure the surface is clean before applying.. I used black velcro instead of white. It does'nt show the discoloration from dirt like the white does..

Great - I actually went an got some marine goop to see if i could adhere the old velcro.  if that does not work i will somply revelvro the corners and where ever it needs.

I love this forum - I really do.  being NEW to PUPs and trailers this place has covered most everything I have questions on.  From Inspections and insurance to brakesvelcro and canvas.  GREAT idea whoever started this.

Now if there was only a tuturial on backing these things up with a TV that would be great.  my first time ever towing was when i bought this.  Needless to say, backing that PUP into my driveway could have made America's funniest home video's.

Going to a large empty parking lot to practice!!!!

Thanks to all!
