Does anyone have a good solution to stop the loud slamming of the door every time someone comes in or out of our 2007 Fleetwood pop-up?  I can't take it anymore!  Appreciate any ideas.

ScoobyDoo

Never saw it done on a camper but my gradfather used to hang a rubber ball close to the edge of the door. If the door was closing fast, the ball would swing out so the door hit it. Door bounce open, ball swing in, door close. Easier than yelling at forty-eleven grandkids...

We simply removed the spring. It's much nicer for US that way. If you have kids that won't close the door, that could be a problem.

The rubber ball is a good idea though. I would make one small adjustment. I'd make it so that the ball swings around the door and hits the kid in the back of the head when they let the door fly. :J

I usually ease the door shut so it doesn't slam.  Note that I said, "Usually."

If I took the spring off, I would forget, not close the door, and be chasing camping felines all over the campground.  Don't ask me how I know that.

I like the rubber ball idea though...

Yeah, good question.  We have kids and they let it slam too much.  Maybe some thin weather stipping between the frame and door.  I'll try it around the corners and see how it works.

I went through the same thing with my past two PU's. I finally drilled out the rivet on the door and left the spring hanging from the other end. this way if I can simply screw it back on if I wash. 90% of the time we have the door tied open. so this worked out great for us. this is something I should of done a long time ago.
best of luck
