Hello All. these questions may be aimed at Jayco owners but maybe not.

I got my PUP out for the first time this weekend, gave it a good bath and raised the roof to start cleaning and assesing what needs done before we use it. in the process of putting the bead bow support in I noticed that the original bracket you insert into the inside or the roof as replaced with what appears to be a metal door handle which is too weak to hold the pole and doesn't allow me to extend the pole even to the first notch when I extend it. The back bed bow support has the same thing and has complete pulled out of the roof. I believe this is a design flaw and need to beef up the area here the bracket screws in.
Any ideas? Also need to know what the length of the grey wire that tensions up to tell you when the roof is raised all the way up is. I think that may have been changed as well since the wire is tight and I am an inch off from getting the door in place.

Thank you all in advance. Hopefully I can get these two issued resolved and start camping soon.
