We made it back from our weekend getaway trip to Valencia Travel Village. However, not without incident. Most of you know, or have camped with Jelleybean in the past, so you know she's generally a good camping dog. We decided on Saturday to load up the bikes and head down to Ventura (40 miles) and ride around the pier and down some bike paths. We left Jellybean in the camper with the AC & TV going while we were gone. We didn't want to take her because alot of beaches won't let dogs on them. So we left her in the camper as many of you have seen us do in the past. So, we head back about 5:30, figuring when we arrived back at the trailer we'd BBQ some Steaks and Chicken, watch a movie, etc... When we arrive at the trailer, I unlock the door for Kristi and walk away. When she opens the door I hear "Oh My God!", I go over there to see what it was and the whole bottom of our screen door was torn apart! She had scratched at the door so much to get out, the screen door was tore up. First I thought, "There is alot of desert between here and Lancaster"......then I thought, "she's small, they'd never notice her in the dumpster"..... but, I decided not to string her up and cooler heads prevailed. I decided to let her live and camp another day. Fortunatly for me I have experience re-screening and fixed it when we got home. Now it is Jellybean proof.  I'll post pictures of it, and some of the CG tomorrow. Had ya thinkin didn't I?

That silly girl!!  Riley must've been giving her some tips while at Newport...on "How to Get Back at Those Humans When They Leave Us Behind".  She wanted to ride in her basket!!

This is why we don't bring our dog unless we know we're doing nothing but staying at the camper.  The very first time we camped with the SCCampers (pre-name, but we were SCCampers and just didn't know it) I left my dog in the trailer and Jacqui stayed back while the rest of us went to the beach because her son was napping.  She ended up having to get my dog out of our trailer because he was crying and howling and then started scratching at the door and she was afraid he'd ruin it.  Thank goodness she was there.  So we learned he's more comfortable visiting Grandma when we camp.  He loves to go with us, but he's old and can't go on hikes or anything anymore (Paul had to carry him part way around the lake at Guajome!) and Paul's always afraid he'll find a skunk or racoon or something.

OK........I got it ......DUHHHH!!

I had to read this thing 4 times to get what you were saying.

You were considering physical abuse to that poor little animal.

All he was doing was his job........it's his job to protect the camper while you are away and obviously it needed protecting really bad......and you don't even appreciate all the effort that he put in, protecting your property. :( .......I'm speechless.
