I'm jealous---for those of you there already.  See you early Saturday.

Hey I'm worried about what Dee said about 91.  Is it bad on Saturdays too???:(
You should be fine!  Lucky me - Dan's going ahead of me tomorrow and setting up, so after school, the kids and I just get in the carpool lane and go for it!  Hurry!  We'll see you Sat.!

Man is nothing cheap anymore?  I just hearf back from the CG, its $5 per car and $2 per person for us to come up for the day....$15, those cactus coolers better be good!!   ha ha

HI ALL,
We made it home in two and half hours! Wow what a hot time this weekend! I will sort out our pictures and post later. Congradulations to all who came and sweated it out!
The ropes course was way cool. Brad and Mary, you guys rock! DNA Dan was showing "No Fear"!

TheViQueen

We're also home- we didn't hit any traffic and made it in an hour and a half. We had a great time and look forward to the next one (wilderness getaway) with cooler temps.   We just looked and we are cooler with less humidity today than Yorba Linda.  Oh, I almost forgot- If someone is missing a chair we have it. It's a blue Coleman. Just let us know.:)

Dee4j

well I made it home..Traffic was a bear .. It took me about 11 minutes to get home....LOL

Bob..or anyone, if you have pics of Dan and Kara's attempt on the ropes course, I would love you to e-mail them to me, since I missed the whole thing.

speaking of pics... Bob has Proof of me UP & OUTSIDE my trailer at ...are you sitting down.....7 AM!! and you can just see the rays of sunshine beaming off of me.

Kwisti- Tell Zach Kevin is fine , his fever is normal today and will be going to school tomorrow. He will see the Urologist this week and We will  see what he has to say.  What was scary is how sick he got in just a few hours..After the last tests I thought we were over his kidney drama.
Thank you for your help with the $$ collection.

THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED ME PACK UP and made sure I got outta there. I will be changing some things for Halloween, knowing Dan won't be there so I won't have to rely on anyone to lift heavy stuff in the truck. I may just leave the cooler in the truck.

Karen Thanks for doing the craft with the kids..Sorry I wasn't there to say goodbye yesterday, but it was good seeing you guys

Hey Brian- Thanks for waking me up!! Now you know why Dan likes summer time, How'd you like to have the job of waking me everyday :yikes:

LOST & FOUND:

Lost: I have lost 1 of the "Orange" Blongo Balls

Found: a silver pan, Blue coleman chair, a bunch of Shirleens kids toys, and a Green spritzer bottle, a Completed craft, which was really cute

We also had a great time and what a tough lot we are for camping in this weather. The rope course was great. Thanks to Brad and Mary. And many thanks to our wagon master Dee for putting together this campout. Dee you're the best!!!! And Kevin, we all hope you get better soon.

darksiders

hey, gang,

we really enjoyed the group...it was nice visiting with everyone under the shade of the big trees, even better at night with the heat of the day gone.  this heat wave was ill timed, but there's nothing you can do about good ole mother nature

sorry, we didn't get to say goodbye to most of you, since we left early on Sunday, our aircon's breaker kept turning off, so we weren't getting much cool air and the car broke down, as well, so we headed back to Torrance for the cooler 90 degree temps. (hahaha)

thanks, Dee, for organizing this one...just let me know what i owe you and i'll get it to you at Dogwood.  We had a really nice time, it was a good rally!
we're really glad to hear that  Kevin is ok.
btw, i think the silver pan is mine, i left if behind at the potluck.

thanks Brad & Mary for organizing the ropes, it was fun to watch!
  see ya soon

Good to hear you all are getting home in one puddle ... I mean piece.  I thought about you all weekend, wondering just how you were handling the inferno.

It'll be fun to see pictures & hear stories.  Hopefully it'll cool off by October & Santa Paula.

Hey Dee - GREAT news about Kevin!!  I'm also really glad he doesn't have to miss his first day of school!  We are all relieved to hear that.  The green spritzer bottle is mine - I hope I never need it again!

To all those that survived 103 At Canyon RV, great fun to be with you all and share this common bond!!!!  I still think it'll be a great place in the cooler future - the grass area was perfect!  ;) Kristi

Kristi,

We'll flip you for the green bottle...ha ha. Maria thinks she lost one, but no big deal, we will buy a new one.

We had fun hanging with the group even though DW wasn' t there much. The temp was iincredible, so so hot. We mad it home by 12:30 with no traffic and that included a stop for breakfast. Only 96 in Bakersfield today...very pleasant. We are looking forward to the next one. Oh, by the way, DW sister, who lives in Riverside said it was raining today...we just missed it. It probably would have made it hotter. Bob, looking forward to pictures posted on the site.

Hi All!

Well, I am so glad you have all made it home okay.  We stopped in Yorba Linda for a quick bite and decided to head home straight up the 91 to go through down down LA and up the 101...traffic moved quickly and we were making great time...then the battery light on the truck came on (it happened on Sunday too...) so we watched carefully, then the battery gauge started to drop...well, Brad kept driving...we almost did not make the interchange from 405 to 101, the truck started to die, and then it was okay, and we were still going....well, just about Westlake the gauge was on red and we were in trouble...pulled off, parked the trailer unhitched and we were going to try to get home with the truck...well, not so, we had auto club tow us home...then we went back to Westlake with the Van and brought the trailer home...what should have been a two hour drive...well, let's just say...it was loooong!

We are home and glad to be here, the ropes course was a blast! I guess it was the radiant personalities of the sccampers that camped this weekend, that must have caused all the heat and the earth to shake!  Thanks for all the fun, see you all in Santa Paula!

Camping Coxes

Thanks for the good hangin' out time Friday and Saturday night.  It's a shame it was so hot that we couldn't have more quality time.

We got up at 7:10 and were out of there at 8:30. Paul bribed Emily with going out to breakfast to get her up and moving.

And by the way Dee, David made it to practice, albeit 10 minutes late.  He told the coach he hit traffic coming back from the camping trip for practice.  That little liar!  But he said most of the rest of the team were later than he was, so it took the heat (so to speak) off of him.

We got home and were unhitching our trailer, and our neighbor came to talk to us and see how things went.  Seems Friday night their AC unit blew the motor, and they've been dealing with this heat.  The first night they slept in the house, but last night they camped out in their cars with the windows open and got eaten by mosquitos!!!  The really ridiculous part is they have a key to our house and were feeding our dogs for us, so why they didn't just stay at our house I don't know.  So Paul rehitched the pop-up, set it up in their driveway, and they're sleeping in the the pop-up tonight so they can have some AC and decent sleep!

HOly cow!!  that sounds like fun!  THat would be my fear of towing, oh and wrecking the damn thing.  Just curious though do you have the RV addition to your AAA membership?  I was told when we bought ours that if we added the RV to the membership they would tow the car and the Trailer home.  If not they would tow the car and leave the trailer.  Just curious to know if thats true.  Adding it was only like and extra $20 or something like that, so it wasn't a big deal...
