My oldest granddaughter is turning 21 :yikes:  and my youngest (last) grandson is turning 1 in a couple weeks.

I just had a nightmare about being a Great-Grandfather........how do you handle that???

If you're not a Great-Grandparent.....do you have one that I can call???? I need some therapy here.

You'll need to talk to my mom. She is a great-nana to 3 great-granddaughters and 3 great-grandsons.  Actually, now that I stop to think about it, that makes me a great-aunt to the same kids. It's not really any different than being an aunt (or a grandma judging by my mom) and definitely not the stuff that nightmares are made of.

I became a grandfather for the first time last fall at 46.  My older brother became a father for the first time about 12 years ago at 47.

Guess which one of us has considered the possibility of becoming "great grandpa?"

My mother-in-law is in her early 60's and generally in good health.  My daughter made her a great grandma (although she would tell you she always was great).  She's not too old to reasonably expect to see her first great-great grandchildren.

On the more practical side, just keep in mind you've always been a "great" grandpa.  Now (assuming one is coming along shortly), you'll just have the title to go with the job.  :book:

We have 13 great grand kids. The oldest is past 15. We have 6 playing baseball and it keeps me busy going to games but I enjoy it.

Congratulations.............I'm starting to feel a little better. I just don't know how I will feel being married to a Great-Grandmother :D

My grandmother is a great grandmother to 7 great grandchildren.  Her oldest will be 18 next month (my son) and her youngest is 1.   She still works part time (she takes care of older people) and has a boyfriend who is 94.
