Looked at a huge Starcraft yesterday

This has to be the biggest PUP I've seen in person.  It was a 1990 Starcraft and I think it was a "Starflight" or "Starflyer."  It's the model with full under floor storage, so it's about 18" taller than a regular PUP, and probably about 12-13 feet long closed.

Pretty cool with all the "basement" storage and I would have bought it.....but they'd closed it up with wet canvas so all it was mildew stained, torn, and the roof was all soft and rotted at the rear.  Too bad.

On the other hand, I was not impressed with the much cheaper build quality as compared to my '87 Starcraft Nova.  For example, the inside roof walls were just exposed particle board and there was a curtain valance to hide that, which was just hand stapled from behind, right to the ceiling!  Cheap!! (no offense to 1990 owners, of course)

I haven't seen the under the floor storage, but that sounds really cool!

Sounds somewhat like my fishing buddy's '98 Starcraft "Starstream". That was the last year they built that Taj Mahal ... it's a bi-level, too! Usually popup camper doors are forward of the wheel/axle; the door on this one is to the rear of it. When you step in through the door the cook stove, sink & frig are right in front of you. To the left are two steps that lead up to the rear queen size bunk; and those steps are also the front for storage drawers. There's one step up to the right that leads to the dining area on one side and a long counter on the right and at the end of the "hall", the front king sized bunk. Under the main area floor is that under-the-floor storage compartment that has access doors to it on each side of the camper. I really like the camper, but Lord have mercy, it was anything but cheap! That year (1998) it was one of Starcraft's top of the line campers, along with Starcraft's early slide-outs; instead of sliding out, this camper went up! And there is nothing cheap or chintzy about the materials or workmanship with this baby!  My friend bought it new as a left over unit in early 1999. He keeps it in an old tobacco barn and before it's put away it gets a bath and polished.  Of course, it's a heavy camper and he tows it with a 3/4 ton pick-up.

This one was a regular layout and floor once you stepped up into it.  Picture a Starcraft Nova or Constellation, just a foot-and-a-half higher off the ground.  The door was in front of the wheel, just like in a regular PUP, but you took one more step up as you entered past the fire extinguisher on your left and then the long cabinets on the left and right of the entry.

The underfloor storage was 100% of the floor plan:  A long door above the rear bumper (spare tire inside and bed supports in that area, but plenty of room for more stuff) long doors at the right side front and rear, and then one more at the left side front.  There may have been one more at the left side rear below the refridgerator access and the heater intake/exhaust.

Man was it huge looking because it was so tall when folded up.  I think the top of the roof was 5' off the ground.

Sherry on your Titan P/U have you guys installed the upgraded finned aluminum rear differential cover yet?  Also, consider the Banks exhaust system and matching air intake set up.  Gives something like 100 more foot pounds of torque and some really great gas mileage.
