You have a 4x4, right?  Explore the Marble area.  Amazing scenery.  Great hiking as well as Jeeping.

For camping, there's a very nice FS campground just south of Redstone.  It's actually run by an outside concessionaire, so it's very, very deluxe by FS standards (showers, self-composting toilets, etc.).  Bogen Flats is supposed to be o.k., but close to the road.  I've picniced but never camped at McClure Pass.  Very few sites, but wooded (and also fairly close to the road, unfortunately).

The drive over Independence Pass is thrilling.  Just make sure no Winnebagos are coming.  We've camped up there.  Beautiful, but I'm guessing the spots fill up quick on weekends (we went during the week in early fall).

If you want to see Maroon Bells (those mountains that are on gazillions of calendars and postcards), you will have to pay a small fee because they make you take a bus up there (at least during most of the summer).  But it's worth it, and doesn't cost too much.

Hope this helps.
