We are had our camping trip this weekend planned for months and a day and as time gets closer, I wonder if we're meant to go.  We have to go because we have a big surprise for Matt.  Matt has been wanting his "girlfriend" (they are 6 yrs old) to camp with us and we have arranged to have her family join us on our trip.  I can't wait to see his face when he sees her at the campground.

Now for the problems:

Due to allergies, Sarah gets ashma at night and when she coughs hard, she throws up.  I was up and down last night taking care of her and hoping she wouldn't throw up again.  Her bedding is now in the wash.  I don't want her to throw up in the trailer because I'm not sure of the laundry facilities.

Josh now has a stuffy nose and a cough.  Between the 2 of them, I'm going to have to bring lots of meds to make them feel better.

Now, for the biggie:  Our Kitty has been sick since last weeked and not sure of his future.  We have one last test to be done to determine what we're going to do.  After 2 trips to the vet, he's now purring, walking around, jumping on beds, etc. but he's not eatting or drinking.  We have to force feed hime through out the day and give him his meds.   We're asking alot of our neighbor who takes care of Kitty while we're gone.  She's real good with Kitty and has cats herself so she knows how to take care of his needs.

We'll make the best of our situation and hope things turn out fine.

Thanks for listening

Hang in there Kim.  Hopefully, things will get better.  Usually when we have a fun weekend planned, something is always trying to get in the way.

Just take one thing and and one day at a time. It will all work out in the end.
Hope you get to camping and have some fun. :-()

Hang in there Kim and Richard. I certainly feel your pain. Griffin has historically had awful timing--frequently getting throw-up sick right before a camping trip. And our indoor-only cat broke his leg about a month ago ( how, i don't know)so that we can't let him out of our sight just to make sure he doesn't jump on or off of anything. I'm hoping he'll be well enough to leave home when we go to Flying Flags in a couple of weeks! We'll say some prayers that all the kiddies are well and you won't miss your trip!

Good news!  We started Sarah's medication early last night and didn't cough much but poor Joshy coughed through out night.  Kitty has a hypo thyroid which can be managed with meds but he's still weak and is just starting to eat.  He was getting cabin fever so we let him out for a spell.  Our neighbor will take care of him.

Thanks for the encouragement guys.  We're leaving after Matt gets off of school.

I wish you well.  I know what you're going through.  Seems half the time when we go someone is or gets sick.  We just deal with it and try not to let it get us down.  Couple trips ago my son got a fever.  Of course we forgot the children's tylenol.  So I was off and found some in no time.  They make this wonderful tylenol for kids that dissolves in their mouth.  Easier to take with then the syrup.

We also recently have been trying echinacea (sp?) in liquid form.  Put a couple drops in the kids juice and it helps.  Also I personaly have had a lot of luck with Airborne.  It works for me.  And now they make a kids gummy Airborne I think.

Sometimes, the worst circumstances can lead to the best trip.  Back on 03, we had a trip planned for months, when my dad past away the week before - I took my mom with me and to this day she still thanks me for getting her away from it all and able to put things into perspective.

I hope you have a great time!

Well, the trip was wonderful and the kids had a blast.  This was one of the best trips we've had in a long time.   Both Josh and Sarah coughed during the night but the cough syrup made it less frequent.  Kitty ate well while we were gone but sluggish but purr's and meows like usual.  YEAH!!
