there website looks great but anyone stay there? Looking to visit the area in August any reviews? Thanks.

We have stayed there several times and we love it! There are a lot of seasonal people but they have always been pleasant. If you have kids they'll have a great time, always alot of kids running around and the planned activities are good. There is a guy who sells firewood just outside the park for a decent price. The pool is small but I've never seen it get real crowded. They were building a little waterslide thing when we were there in April, I don't know if it will be done. The only weird thing is the bathrooms. Bring your own TP as the roll holders they have are too big for the rolls( the paper doesn't spin freely, you'll see what I mean) and there are no paper towels or dispensers in the bathrooms, They are clean and the showers are hot! Most of the sites are big, but there are a few that seem like afterthoughts ("well maybe we can squeeze a few more in here or there"). Lots of shade! Hope this helped!

Hello there, don't mind if I hijack this tread do ya?

Based on the reccomondation you provided, and the pretty good overall ratings on rvparkreviews.com I suggested this campground to my small group and we too will be heading there in August for the first time.  We will be there for the carnival weekend, so the little ones in our group should have fun...

This would be our first camping trip in our new to us pop up.  We NEVER camp in the summertime (previous RV was a 8x8 tent).  But our new camper has AC, so we are hoping it all works out.  It's not really us, but our 16 month old twin boys that my wife is worried about....

Here are a couple of questions I have that hopefully you could answer for me?

1.)  What is the best way for me to get there from S. Jersey (Cherry Hill Area, around exit 4 on the turnpike).

2.)  How far away is this place from the Cabelas store in Hamburg PA, do you have any clue (I could always mapquest it, I just thought I would ask).

Thats all I can think of now, thanks in advance for your help!

can't answer your questions, but we plan on being there around 8/8 and staing until 8/12

The Cabela's is about an hour down rt.78, but beware, they are doing construction right near the store so traffic is dreadful for about 10 miles(they have the highway down to 1 lane!).
As far as how to get there(Col. Woods) from South Jersey, I'm not quite sure. Maybe grab 611north in Philly and take that for about an hour. The campground is 5 min. off of 611 in Revere.

Right on!

Yep, mapquest said it was like an hour away (Cabelas), but they didn't mention any traffic warnings!

We are 2 months away from our trip, so MAYBE it will be better the traffic construction and all...who knows if we will even go, its a bit farther than I thought...

...and as far as directions, you were completely right.  Hop on 611 and head north, easiest way, about an hour and a half from my house!

THANKS for the help!!!!

You're quite welcome! Enjoy your trip. One other thing I should mention.
There is a lady who works there who is rather grumpy. Everyone else is extremely nice, but she just seems like she hasn't "had a nice day" since 1962. Just take it with a grain of salt and enjoy the rest of the campground, it really is a nice place.

Just got back from our trip there. I was lookiing for the grumpy lady but couldn't find her, I even tried upsetting 1 or 2 of them and they never became grumpy.  The campground is VERY nice.  The spray pool is working and the pool is heated that was a surprise (we had 2 days of 90 degrees and then after the rain it was in the 70's.)  The spots also have cable and wireless internet.  Cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen.  To better explain the toilet paper issue.  The toilet paper roll is round but the holder is rectangle making it very hard to unroll the TP.  The events were also good.

She retired at the end of last season. Sorry I didn't see this sooner, we've been going there since 1998.Obviously we like the place. Glad you stay was nice as well.

When we were there in April the Wi-Fi wasn't up and running yet and they were just starting the new spray pool. I'm glad they got everything done in time for summer. We've stayed there several times in the past few years and have always had a pleasant stay. The next time we are going there will probably be Sept.- Oct.

Well we just got back from our weekend there...

Here's our deal...We have been tent camping for like over 10 years.  We have been accostomed to getting sites where your neighbors are not exactly on top of you....Now, I have no room to complain, because we went with a group of people (there were four of us) and we had our own little cul de sac (sites C-15-19) and it was perfect.  The sites "behind us" it seemed that everyone was on top of one another....We just couldn't imagine going camping alone, and having EVERYONE so close!

That's like one thing we have to get used to I guess.

Other than that, we loved the campground.  Our sites were awesome, and we really were happy that we were able to get them.  We had a bunch of kids with us and they loved the playground and the pools.  The Wi-Fi worked great right from the campsite which was cool because I had to do a little work when I was there.

The bathrooms were pretty decent, and the showers were free!  The TP issues, ha yeah, I brought my own roll with me.  However, in the restrooms near our site, they didn't have paper towels available?  I would also assume that some kind of liquid soap would've been there too, but no?

The store had everything we needed, friendly staff, and didnt rip us off.  The pools were a blast, all in all if the group wants to go again, we would definitely go back, and reserve the same spots we had!

Thanks for everyones input!
