My pup has a handpump on the sink and it also has a hookup outside to hook a waterhose directly to the faucet.  I hooked it up directly and nothing comes out.  Is there something I need to do to switch it over to use pressure from a waterhose?  I've heard i just need to lift up on the handle but it doesnt work.  There is a funny looking white thing in the end where i put the water hose.  Does this need to turn or be pulled out?  Thanks.

It would help if we knew what kind of  Pup you have and hand pump?  I have a plastic white hand pump, on a Fleetwood Cheyenne and when I use the pump the handle is down and off, raising it up and down gives me water from my tank. When I want running water  from the city hook up I have to raise the handle to shut the water off from running, so it sticks up the whole time its off.  Hook up to city water you will want a water pressure regulator to add to the campground water supple, then hook your hose to it and attach to the camper. This will keep you from blowing your plumbing and causing leaks.  Been there done that...

It is a '94 Palomino Filly pup with a white hand pump.  No electric water pump.

I'm inclined to think about all these RV hand pump water fixtures are about the same.  My Starcraft's hand pump is made by Leisure Components in Cerritos, California.  Anyway, to operate the hand pump while connected to city water, push the handle downward as far as it will go and that will allow the water flow. Just releasing the pump handle will shut off the water.

On my Coleman, if I hook the tank up, all I do is turn the faucet handle counter clockwise until it lifts up and pump.  On city water, I turn the sink faucet handle clockwise until it stops and it won't lift up, just hook up the the hose, and  then after the air is bled out and the water flows just turn it counter clockwise to shut it off.

If pushing it down is the proper method, you should have an "L" shaped metal rod next to the pump handle.  Ever wonder what it is for?  It is to hold the pump handle down to provide a steady stream of water when hooked up to the hose.  It takes some pretty good downward pressure to get the water to flow.

Thanks guys.  All i had to do was press down on the handle and it worked!  I'm ready for camping now!! :)

That "L" is not to hold the handle down while travling if you are going to hook up and turn on city water befor you get the top poped. I do use it to hold the valve open whendraining tank on the way home...
