I did a search in the reviews forum and got very little, there was mention of a fan light combo sold here but when I went to the store, couldn't find it.

I have a small D cell powered fan that is ok but can't you need to replace the Batt. at least once during a long wekend.

Looking for a fan that will move some air around, and to supply "white noise" to help sleep.

What are some of the good ones what are the ones to stay away from.

Not quite sure I understand the term "white noise" ... is that where you fall asleep watching television?(LOL)

For a 12V fan, you can't hardly go wrong with Fantastic Fan products

I can tell you what not to buy.  Stay away from any 12 volt fan with the name Prime on it.  Wasted almost $50.00 and went thru the entire stock of the supplier by me.  Finally got one that worked for about an hour before it smelt like I was burning an innertube.  It is the only one out of about 6 that actually worked. The rest were DOA. It's noisy, stopped oscillating, smells awful. Very cheaply made. No quality control.  Made in China.  Premium price for substandard product. IMO they are pure junk.

i bought a nice 12volt fan at walmart, in there camping area / car area
for about 10.00 it has a lighter attachment...

I bought the Endless-Breeze fan from the Pop Up Times store when Dave still had them. He had the best price I found anywhere at the time. Very nice fan, well made and quiet. Three speeds and moves a lot of air.

Oh it's a nice looking fan sitting on the counter.  Just don't plug it in.  It does keep the skeeters away though.

My work truck doesn't have air on it, so I bought one of these to clip off of a sun visor.  That was three years ago.  It's still working and in use today, a bit more wobbly than new, but has held up great considering the cost to abuse ratio.

OK I'm missing somthing, all the 12v fans I found at wal-mart had a lightr plug but none had a RCA plug. Whn I chckd the dealer he had a colman light/fan for $60. There must be an adapter or something

I had made two fan/lights out of battery operated lights I bought in WalMart.  They didn't have cords (battery powered).  I bought a 12' coiled instrument cable at Radio Shack with 1/4" inch mono plugs on each end, cut it in half, drilled holes in the lights and wired it up.  I would suspect you could do the same type of thing by cutting off the cigarette lighter plugs and wiring in mono 1/4" jacks.  It may take a bit of soldering, but it's a lot better than spending $120 on two Colemans.  BTW, it's not an RCA plug.  It's a mono 1/4" instrument plug.

I'll do this if I have to but I thought it was a more common item then it seems to be. Most 12v items have the same plug I can't believe there is now adapter, I would like to plug in my DVD player as well.
I followed the link given and that one has a lighter plug as well.

The other way out of it, of course, would be to install a cigarette lighter outlet that you can plug your items into.  It shouldn't be too difficult to wire a new circuit into your converter or even tap into an existing circuit somewhere around the dinette.  I would think running it on a new circuit would be the most prudent, that would reduce the likelihood of blowing a fuse.

Gabe

OK I have the 1/4 mono plug, which is positive which is negitive
I've got a spliter for a lighter I thought I'd just soder the 1/4 mono in it's place

Gabe

OK got it to work thanks everyone

Maybe you're talking about this one:
http://www.commandelectronics.com/lighting-accessories.html

It uses a #912 Bulb 1A, low speed fan eats .12A and high speed fan eats .3A.

I bought mine slightly used on e-Bay for about $25. It's got the 1.4" phono plug to jack into your light fixtures if so equipped. It also comes with three "C" clips to mount in various positions to the bunk poles. It works great and the high speed fan definitely moves some air.
