Being the proud father of a four year old who relishes shutting the pop up door with as much gusto as possible - anybody have any great mods for quieting the ol' door?  I am thinking possible a piece of foam tape or weather stripping around the door.  Thanks for any suggestions.

What you suggested is what I would do, or teach your daughter not to slam the door.:)

We took the spring off of our door. Although, you must consider that could result in the opposite problem.....the door may not get closed at all. Here in SoCal, it doesn't make a lot of difference but some places have a lot of bugs.

Oh, for a second there I thought this was going to be a thread on all the door slamming that goes on in campgrounds.... you got me keyed up there for a second. I hate the door slamming while camping!

With forty-eleven grandkids, my grandfather would hang a rubber ball near the edge of the door. if the door was closeing to fast the ball would swing out and cause the door to bounce open. Kids that tried to see how many times it would bounce ate standing up...

Myself, I just hold onto the door and close it. Works every time and is quiet.

I hear ya' but we are talking about a 4 year old -  He is learning, but he usually forgets about it around 10pm or so when the slam echoes for 10 minutes around the campground.

I just put some "stickey felt pads" - really small green ones - between the door and the frame. It helped some, but not enough, and now you have to push the door a little to close it.

Rawhide-  it sounds like you didn't correct a problem you just created another one to go along with the first one. :sombraro:
