Has anyone ever been to Emma Wood SB? We just made a reservation there on a whim.   Yes Wayne, we tried Pt. Mugu but they have no openings.

Only problem with Emma Wood is the trains :yikes: . Traffic noise is bearable. When ya goin'?? We're always up for a beach camp-out.

Ya bringin' the new ToyHauler? :D

The trains can't be as bad as Mojave Narrows. Those are freight trains that run maybe 5-6 trains an hour 24-7. We are going July 12-15th (Thurs-Sun). I will drive to work on that Friday. C'mon down. Saturday we may be going to Ventura Isle Marina to hang out on my bosses boat for awhile, just for kicks. Ashlee will be in Arizona so it will just be Kristi and I. And yes, we may have the Toy Hauler.............:Z  
 
Not to mention, remember, we have a hardside trailer, blocks a little more of the noise.

We just found out that we have "Grandkid Duty" the 13th & 14th. :-()

That takes precedence over camping :sombraro:

We'd bring the kids but my daughter is still not quite sure about the youngest one (he just turned 1). She's afraid that he might get scared being away from home the 1st time. I would normally disagree with her because his brother and sister would be there but I am afraid that a mid-night train whistle might be a little more than he could handle :yikes: .

We've never been there but just got back from Carpenteria where the trains come by very close to the campground (our spot was across the fence from the tracks.)  After camping 3x at Carpenteria, the 1st night is the worst with the trains (at night) and the others aren't bad.  The kids actually didn't even notice them coming by during the night.

I hope this place doesn't suck.  We just extended the trip.  We will be staying there from Tuesday 7/10 to Sunday 7/15.

We drove by there today......the campsite was great but the fog started rolling in about 7:30 :cool:

I heard on the news today a body was found wrapped in a blanket at Emma Woods SB.  Yikes!!!!!:yikes:
