We put a deposit on a Jayco Select last night! We are excited but  I am wondering if it's really going to be enough room for a family of five. (kids 3,8 15)

Does anyone here camp in a pop up this size with five people?

I've got a 2007 Forest River 228 which is a 12' box and opens to 22'6". It's worked well for us with three kids (two mine, one a friend's). Now if it's raining outside and everyone is trying to move around all over the popup then it's a different story, but three kids (3, 4, 10) on their end of the popup and us on ours worked just fine.

Welcome Jean and Congrats on your new PU. We have a Jayco 1207 and its plenty of room for the 4 of us. Our is 23ft 4 in. long when open. Yours is just a few inches shorter, but you have a slideout dinnette, which helps open up your floor space.  Your going to love your new Jayco, we do ours..... Post some pics when you can, everyone here loves checking out each others pics, thats how we get ideas for mods for our PU.
 Happy Camping :-()

WELCOME TO PUT!!!! Jean

You asked your question very wisely. A lot of people say, "Can we sleep 5 in this camper?".

You obviously know that there is a lot more to camping then "Sleeping". I would suggest that you look around at member's "Mods". It will take some careful organizing to make your camping experience pleasant. A lack of organization or realization of the space needed to store gear for 5 people has the potential of being quite stressful.

The good news is.......it won't be that way for you because you are doing the right thing....ask plenty of questions ahead of time. It will pay dividends. :sombraro:
