just spoke with Todd they are at the grapevine...

gee they have a whole day ahead of us to "pimp their campsite"

Oh just an FYI: I am not allowing Kevin to have ANY soda as of yet. He has been good about it (as far as I know   )

I want to wait a couple of more weeks and I would like to not have to go to the ER this campout...I think Kwisti's curse has rubbed off onto me :eyecrazy:

I talked to the ranger today and it was raining slightly - temp in the mid 40's to mid 30's - day/night.

For those coming from Orange County take the 91 Riverside. It turns into the N215 to San Bernardino. To 330 Mountain Resort - exit 18 / Waterman - Arrowhead. Then straight up the mountain. The ranger says is takes about 30 - 35 minutes to get to the summit. The first 20 - 25 minutes it's two lanes in each direction. The last 10 to 15 minutes it's a single lane in each direction. Once you reach the top be looking on the right for a Dominoes Pizza and then a Vallero Gas Station, also on the right. At that point you are within 1/2 to 1 mile of the campground. Be looking for a sign on the left that says Blue Jay and a street sign that says Daley Canyon Rd. - turn left there and you will see a sign that says Dogwood Campground.

Hey Mike,

I see they have a dump station, do they have a potable water station there to fill up our water tanks?? I don't see water listed at the sites

TheViking

NEWSFLASH!!!!!

For some reason I thought that my site has electric, but what about water?
I called and NONE of the sites up there have water.  So, you can either fill up at hom and tow it up there, or they have a Potable water station on site.  Just don't forget and tow up there empty, set up, then remember you forgot to fill.

griffsdad

How far is the nearest supermarket from Dogwood?

TheViking

Kevin & Todd are on the 210 at Pasadena right now. They will call me and let me know how the 18 is when they get there.  I will post their findings.

griffsdad

Dee pm me the cell phone list thanks.

Jason's sore throat appears to have been a fluke.  He certainly has more energy than I do now.

See ya up there.

TheViQueen

Ok, Talked to Kevin,  he said the 18 was ok, steep at times but managable. They are alone up there as of today, "Nobody but us are here" was his exact words. He also said that it was cooold.  So bring heavy jackets and sweats.

Thanks Dave - that's exactly the kind of directions I needed - I was very worried I'd drive right on past it!  Awesome!
