Ok we just returned from 3 nights at Dogwood and had a blast.  Heres a couple answers to everyone questions...

1.  The sites have electric BUT NO WATER.  So fill up the tanks.  There is a dump station at the entrance.

2.  We were in site 23 which is on a hill.  Nice site but up away from the bathroom (bad with the wheelchair)  We also noticed more wind up on that end, then the rest of the camp.

3.  All sites seem to be paved back in sites, and most the tables and fire rings are BEHIND the TV not next to it, some times down a small hill, just FYI.

4.  Lake Gregory DOES NOT allow private boats in the lake.  We saw the sign.  It is a nice place to go if its hot they have swimming paddle boats, and a water slide.  $3 to get in and $1 for the water slide (or $6 all day)  And cheap lunch $3 combo of burger fries and drink.

5.  Arrowhead was fun, a small amusement area for the the kids, and OUTLET SHOPS for all you crazy shoppers!

Have fun!!!

Quote from: Sue HardeeWe just booked space 19...as close as I could get spaces are filling up. I see electricity but does the site also have water and sewer? See ya all then.
Yay!  Glad you can make it.

How was the drive up the mountain? Is it two lanes in each direction? And how long did it take to get there from the bottom of the moutain to where the road levels out at the top? Thanks

dkutz

the road up is actually 2 lanes in either direction until probably 3 or 4 miles before camp.  The ride up the hill was maybe 20min to 30 hour (depending on how heavy your foot is).

FYI we passed it on the way up and had to turn around.  Its off hwy 18, but not directly.  Look for the turn off for blue jay, it is just past that exit about 50 feet on the left.  If you get to Rim of the world High school you've gone too far.

Rather than PM I will tell everyone, (what makes you so special anyway?)  ha ha

We took 215 to the 30 (short dist) to the to the 18(waterman ave).  Pretty easy.  The campground is in Rim of the World.  It literally backs up to the high school.

As for water they have water to share between sites, with signs stating that you are to take it to your campsite and use and not wash at the spiggot.  I don't see why you couldn't fill up at one before parking, OR bring a long hose.

You can also call and ask, the dogwood website has a number  for the check in booth, they are very helpful.

I will try to post pics tomorrow of our site.

I figured maybe I was the only one that didn't know where it was and nobody wanted to read it...

don't quit we are all having such fun...

OC Campers

Dee knowing your setup, I would suggest filling up with water when you get to the cg.  Waterman Ave is a 4 lane (2 each way) road up but it is pretty steep.  If you carry water up you will crawl up the hill.  Right before you get to the top you will go down to 2 lanes and the lanes will narrow.  Fortunately the cg isn't too far from this point.

pppppfffrrrrrrrtttttt!!!

Thanks Jaquai :p

fyi the water faucets don't have the normal turn on and off valve.  You have to hold a lever down while the water runs.  So either bribe a kid to fill your 74 gallon tank, or tie it down and fill...

No bribing here..they have  No choice. ok..reality is ..I'll bribe 'em   if all else fails...there's always Duct tape!!  :p (for the faucet..not the kids :J )

I'm excited , I got the MD home football schedule in the mail today and there is NO homegame that weekend, which means Kevin should be able to go. let's keep our fingers crossed that I can take him out of school early.
