waterproofing necessary after cleaning?

Greetings
our 2001 westlake has developed some mold spots on the inside and outside of the canvas/vinyl over the beds.  If we spot clean it with a bleach solution, are we insane not to waterproof it after?  We only plan to use it once more this year and would just as soon wait to do it, but I don't want to chance a leaky roof if it rains on that one trip.
Thanks for any replies

I would recommend checking your owners manual first about what you should clean with.  If you do clean with bleach I would guess that after using a strong chemical like that you would want to waterproof.

Maybe someone who has done it will respond!
