We have an antenna we bought at our RV dealer that is supposed to be mounted to the side of the roof of the  popup. At least the bracket is and you slide the antenna in when you get where you are going.

DH does not believe in drilling into the popup so we never installed it.  We put it as high up in a tree as we can and secure with a bungee.  We have a 50 foot cable to connect to the camper.

Memorial Day we saw a set up where a camper in a small TT had two pieces of PVC pipe and a similar antenna attached to the top of the PVC.  It was secured with bungees to the side of the camper.  I have asked DH to do that for me, but so far it looks like I am still putting the antenna in a tree!

wow you gave me a great idea .maybe a a top a flag pole.kills two birds with one stone..you got me thinking.....be right back ;)

That would probably work great.

Ours only cost about $40.00 though!  We can usually get 4 or 5 channels unless we are out in the boonies.

solidsignal.com has some nice products.

we use the winegard hideaway, that attaches to side of camper.  not the roof, the side - we are not concerned about leaks there.  then run cable thru an amp (from RS, & runs off 12v) and to TV.  we used a couple male-male threaded cable adpaters to run thru the wall and a cabninet to TV.  works great.

this is a permanent installation that takes minimal setup/take down time - that was a prerequisite for us: to save time - not add to it, such as in erecting and dismantling a tower every set-up.

it's been a great mod for us.  see:

good luck.

That is exactly the antenna we have, maybe when I said the side of the roof it wasn't a clear description.

I do want to get the set up where we put it on a pole, or PVC pipe so we can get it a little higher.  I think the higher you get it the more reception.
