Well its pouring in San Diego right now....I think our camping group should change our name to rain, wind and fire camping club...it has done one of the three on almost every campout...I will be making either fried rice or chicken chinese salad for dinner....breakfast I'm trying the johnny cakes from the receipe forum.   See you tomarrow.  Until them don't drown or float away..... :morning:

it's freeeeeezing outside...Please bring lots of firewood everyone. I'm thinking about bringing my heaters for the poker table....

griffsmom

Hey everyone--can't wait until tomorrow!!  Dave, Mom and Griffin will be there in the daytime; I'll be arriving by train after work, just in time for campfires and cocktails!  :sombraro:

For potlucks:

Mountain Man DO breakfast

Beef stroganoff / cherry chocolate dump cake

Can I get a rough estimate of who will be joining the knitting class?  I'm thinking we can get together with our pointed sticks around 11-ish.

not sure when I will get there but anyway

put Kara & Myself down for knitting...this will be intersting..Kara will do fine, but me...woodshop, autoshop, and power tools agree with me more :eyecrazy:

Dee4j

ok...sooo way not even got my act together. (what else is new) I'm not even packed..(except the firewood  :p )so I think I'm shooting for leaving here about 1:30, getting Kevin From school and heading down. where is that pack up fairy!! she NEVER shows up to my house :swear:
the only fairy that shows up to my house is the crap fairy, she flitters threw dumping stuff on the table, the counter..... :banghead:

Hi all...

I hope you all had a great time.  I was so dissapointed that I couldn't make it for the day.  but, when I woke up saturday morning, there were 30 people here moving out furniture, bringing up the old carpet, pulling out molding and tack strip.  Greg had planned a suprise for Brett and had assumed that I would be taking him to San Mateo....Well, once things got started, it gave me the Motivation to continue with stuff that had been on hold since Brett's accident........it was unbeliveable.  by 5:30 that evening, we had new hardwood floors throughout the entire 1st floor of the house.  ALL DONATED.....time, effort, installers, breaksfast, lunch, and even clean up.  The only monetary that came out of our pockets was the flooring.  and, the company gave it to us at their cost. Super cheap..... We didn't have to even worry about cleaning up the trash afterwards.  They even hauled the old carpet to the dump.

We didn't even know these people.  this was a result of a conversation Greg had with someone who worked at our local grocery store.

It just goes to show.........people do care

Can't wait to hear all about the trip.

Had a great time!  Weather couldn't have been better & the potlucks were yummy.  It was fun to watch Dee try & tackle knitting -- looks like she's gotten the hang of it!  Here are a few pics from the knitting circle ...  :D

We had a wonderful weekend!  So much fun to meet new people and get to know others better...after leaving we stopped in Orange to see my mom and went out to lunch (yummy) and ended up taking the coast home as the 405 was another parking lot!  And it was only 3pm at that time. Hope Bob and Trina made it through that gridlock...

See you at Joshua Tree, next one for us!
