Lodge Griddle & Coleman 2-burner?

I have a Coleman 2 burner propane stove and wonder if the 10-7/16""x20" Lodge griddle with inset handles will work well on it.  Specifically does it fit and is heat distribution fairly even?

It should probably work, you may have to disconnect one or both of the little side panels on your stove to make it fit. Be careful if you disconnect both panels because not only do they block the wind but they hold the lid up. You may have a couple of hot spots, but you will be able to cook on the entire surface.

When all else fails, break out the tape measure.    I would measure the distance between the hinges on the wind panels on the side.  Looks to me like it would probably fit, based on the dimensions given onthe manufacturers' web pages.
 
Cast iron will distribute the heat fairly evenly-you will have a couple of hot spots, but you still oughta be able to make a pancake or two.

I dug out the stove and it looks like the griddle will fit with the windguards in place.  I'm a little concerned over possible uneven heating with the fairly small (but hot) Coleman burners.  If it has hot spots I'll try a couple tops from 3 pound coffee cans as diffusers.

Amazon Prime is gonna take a hit on this one. 30% off list with two day shipping of a 15 pound chunk of iron will eat into their profit.

I've had one of the Coleman griddles for years. Although I too like cast iron I can find no fault with the Coleman griddle. It has "legs" that straddle the grates on either a 2 or 3 burner Coleman stove. We use it to cook the whole breakfast - bacon, eggs, tattees or pancakes.

I did a search for such a griddle on ebay and Coleman web site some time ago without result....guess I better take good care of mine.

Although it's not exactly cheap, (about the cost of a whole stove), an accessory Griddle is still available.  Simply order it online.



You can also find it though other sources .  Just search using the Coleman part number: 5140D700T.

I'm a big fan of the Coleman combo Stove/Grill unit for picnics, and I found an accessory griddle for it a few years ago that works very well for pancakes, bacon, eggs, etc.

I purchased one a year or two ago at a Coleman Outlet store.  I think I paid around $25 for it.  It works well on the camper stove and my coleman white gas stove.
