I remember making a chicken and dumpling recipe in scouts way back in the day.  It was easy and good.  Dumpling were just biscuit mix, but I don't remember the recipe for the chicken part.  Anyone have a favorite.?  Easy recipe?

Thanks

This is from the MacScouter Website, but it sounds just like the recipe we used in the early 80's when I was a Scout.

Chicken and Dumplings

1 envelope chicken noodle soup mix (NOT single serving size)
1 6-1/2 oz can boned chicken
Buttermilk biscuit mix

Mix soup mix with about half the normal water, add boned chicken and bring to a boil. Mix biscuit mix and drop by spoonfuls on the chicken mix. Cover tightly and SIMMER (not too hot) until dumplings are done (usually takes 12-20 minutes). Serves two or three. I have made a double recipe and served six by adding a small can of mixed vegetables. Jim Sleezer, Roundtable Commissioner, Pawnee Bill District, Will Rogers Council, Stillwater, Ok

I have done the same as above except instead of the envelope of Lipton soup, I used 2 cans of Campbell's cream of chicken soup. It adds a bit of thickness to the recipe. I also have added a can of mixed veggies.

Just returned from a short trip this weekend and made  this recipe. Here is a slight modification as I was pressed for time. Use Pilsbury (or store brand) buttermilk biscuits in the can that you pop open. Cut up the bicuits real small (as they really expand!) and drop into the boiling soup mix. Cook for about 15 minutes and it is done. I only had to clean the DO and a couple of utensiles. It tasted the same as making the dumplings with the Bisquick mix and was less mess and less time.
